Stopped here on a weekend during my KC BBQ trip. Entrance was on opposite side of parking; at least the one I could find. Most of the beers were standard fare, although I do remember being impressed with their Java Porter. Samplers were inexpensive, some would say cheap. The place was packed on this Saturday, and although I didn't try any food (BBQ trip) I probably would do so on another return. I wouldn't say this is a destination but it is a nice stop especially if heading west as there will not be many more options after Tallgrass.

A pretty good craft brewery in Topeka, and generally the first place I check out when in town. The food is good, and they prepare alot from scratch. They have tvs all over so its a good place to catch the game. Atmosphere is neat with alot of exposed wood interior and large windows to view the brewery. Beers are good, and theyve won several medals at GABF. They have several German style brews, but also several pale ales and ipas. Family friendly, and they have out door seating. One item to note however, park near other cars and the street, as while we were there several cars in the lot behind the facility were broken into. Better yet, use Lyft.

A very unique restaurant/brewery, The Blind Tiger provides a great dining experience and excellent craft beer options. They have several distinct dining areas as well as a bar. It's family friendly and the food is excellent. The have several beers one of their best being the Java Porter.

Blind Tiger is a Micro Brew and Restaurant. They have a good selection of Beer and Food I have been there several times and never been disappointed. They have award winning Beers including there Java Porter (in my opinion a 5). I was there recently there and discovered they have a collaboration Beer with Red Eye Brewing in WI called WisKansan Tornado IPA. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is massive! With a ton of beer options and great food to go along with it I was impressed. Got lost in the massive maze, but if you are in the area I would suggest taking a stop in.

I think I enjoyed this place more because it was in Topeka Kansas. Solid beer, solid food. I would go back (if I was in Topeka.) There Java Porter is exceptional though.

Stayed in Topeka last weekend (5/30-6/1/14) and made a visit which was about 15 minutes from the hotel on Saturday evening, May 31st. Sat in the bar area as there were many children in the dinning area and not our style BUT ended up being the best move actually by far. Menu was really reasonable with a good selection and had 3 different appetizers, which all were good portions and tasty with all fresh local ingredients!

Service was great and the waitress gave us a couple of free samples of their brews. Since there were a good 10 different of their brews on tap, I decided to do a 4- 4 ounce glass sampler tray/flight. Wow! Fantastic! Had the Java Porter, Stinger Honey Wheat, Tiger Paw Porter and the Raspberry Wheat. These were so good that I ended up trying another 2 sampler trays with the wife. ALL good brews! Bought a couple of their glasses for the home bar. They also sell growlers but didn't buy any. They don't bottle their brew for sale outside their place, which is a real shame. Ended up buying a couple of their glasses with their logo on them. We will be back as this is just a 3 hour drive from the house and will make it another weekend sometime. :)

I was in Topeka on business and I called one of my friends I knew who lived in the area to meet me for lunch, since I was out of my meeting around 10:45. He suggested the Blind Tiger, which I thought was a pretty cool name for a bar, so we met there when they opened at 11:00AM.

My friend immediately began to rant and rave about how packed it would get on the weekend, and normally he is a pretty straight shooter. The atmosphere looked really fun, old school style stuff all around. The place got crowded quick with lunchgoers, and that gave me a good vibe as to what I was in for. Nothing sends up the red flag for me like an empty bar/restaurant, especially at lunch on a major road.

The quality of the beers was really good. We snagged a taster paddle of four 4oz. beers for $3.99, which then led me to pick up a growler of Top Gun IPA on the way out the door. I believe they had about 8 beers currently available and being brewed, although they said they "were out" of two of them. The waiter really didn't seem like he knew a whole lot about beer, but that's not so bad I guess. I didn't talk to the brewmasters or anything like that, although I saw a couple guys walking around the tanks who could have probably told me a lot more.

I got the turkey sandwich with the jalapeno bacon on it, it is the Tuesday lunch special. It was DAMN good, and it's got a little heat to it. I'm glad I did my beer tasting before I ate that, because it effectively wrecks your palate. Got a growler, sandwich, and water for $22. Not bad in my book at all. Really enjoyed it, will be back if I am in the area again.

I have been to the Blind Tiger Brewery on two different occasions in the recent past and had a two very different experiences. The first time was around 1 PM for a late lunch. The atmosphere was great. The beer and food were very good. The service was satisfactory. The second time that I visited the beer and food were good but not good enough to make up for the horrible service. Being that the two visits were so divergent I decided to split the difference on my "service rating." We are planning to visit once more (despite the fact that our last experience was so horrible) to try and see if it was an anomaly. Servers should know the beers, even if only with a cheat sheet. There were some other issues, but I don't want to dwell. My point is made I think.

Anyway, there are some very good beers here. The atmosphere is decent. The whole place is sort of like a weird labyrinth with more seating areas around corners, down or up staircases and things all seem to connect. Its cool though. The food is good. I hope that they work on the issues with the staff, I was told they had "turnover." If you are a beer person I would give it a try. I am not so sure I would try to impress friends. I will update my review after the next visit.
