First had: on tap at their brewery
Poured a ruddy amber color with a minimal white head. Not much to speak of in the aroma, other than some huskiness. Much like the Tun Light, this had a weird chemical taste to it that just didn't groove with me. Generally malty, but with a ubiquitous phenolic and solvent-like taste that basically ruined everything. Light-medium mouthfeel, and nothing I'd want to sample again.

Pours a clean deep orange-ish to amber color with an off white head. In the aroma, a small hint of fruit. In the taste, nothing more than a small caramel like roast. A small hop bite and medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry hint of caramel. More roast than standard, but still very pedestrian.

Sample at the brew pub: Pours a deep and clear amber color with a minimal off-white head and very little lacing. Light malt aroma with touches of hops. Medium body with an overall bitter character, along with hints of roasted malt. The finish is midly bitter with a rather flavorless aftertaste of hops. Barely average overall.

It came to me a clear ruby amber, and nicely carbonated. A finger of light beige head settled soon to a frothy sheen. Some measure of lacing rulled the inside of the glass.
The aroma was vaporous and I had to stretch to really make out the presence of malt, which came through in a very generic way.
Upon sipping, the malt was more aggressive, but barely so, with a bit of roasty caramel and some mild berry fruitiness. A wisp of chocolate and caramel came along for the ride, though not for long, before a rounded, indistinct bitterness rode herd to a rather dull finish. There's nothing offensive here, but it does nothing to recommend itself.
Light of body, it passes across the palate in a very thin fashion, washing away, though not without some trace evidence left behind.
I wanted to try something I'd not had before, before I went with the IPA. I picked this, and now wonder if maybe I shouldn't have. don't get me wrong, the nondescript nature actually makes it rather drinkable, and makes more than one easy enough, but I really don't want mediocre in a brewpub beer. That said, lesson learned. If I feel adventurous here next time, I'll look in another direction.

Tun Tavern Irish Red is is an average at best red that is overwhelmed with hard candy lolipop malts that are handed out at the bak drive thru window. You are looking for some dose of red mediocrity with this brew. Nothing special. Go for the IPA if you seek flavor.
Beer is good. Happy brew pub beering.

I seem to have enjoyed this on a bit moreso than others who have reviewed it thusfar.
It pours avery, very nice looking deep amber colour with a thick creamy slightly off-white head. Sticky lacing on this one too.
The smell is (for lack of a better term) the downfall for this one and what will skew it's numerical score. At best it's average. There's nothing wrong with it, per se, it's just virtually non-existent. There are some hints of aroma here and there, mostly malt and some chocolate with a touch of hop, but that's it really.
The taste is much improved from the aroma. Malt surprisingly dominates the hop flavour here with earthy and chocolate flavours throughout. Hops do come to play in the mix though and provide a nice sharp bite at the finish. This is almost like an amber pushing itself into brown ale territory at times yet still hanging onto the properness of an amber ale.
Mouthfeel is very nice. A bit more full than you might expect for the style but nothing distracting.
I enjoyed this one thoroughly and would put it amongst my brews to have at the Tun when they don't have something new on to sample.

Small fruity hop notes top off this clear ice tea/amber colored ale. Head dissolved away quickly. This beer almost had a watered down taste to it. Little substance but had a pleasant bitterness that lingered in the aftertaste. Theres some roasted chocolate tones in there. Not bad.
