A bit out of the way, but a nice little walk from the boardwalk. Very clean and spacious inside and out. I was noticing all the military stuff and came to find out the the owner with in the service and did this after the fact. I really enjoyed the decor, especially the tanks above the bar. The bartender was very friendly, attentive, and knew her stuff. Had spinach and crab dip, a bit rich and filling, but really nice. The food all looked good, but a bit pricy, whereas the beer was decently priced. A cool place, and quite enjoyable. (537 characters)

I saw the luke-warm reviews here but my wife and I were across the street at the AC Convention Center and I figured why not give them a shot for lunch. I'm the kind of guy who chooses a restaurant on their beer selection first, food second.

We sat at the bar and had a very nice bartender. The beer selection was ordinary. The obligatory "light" beer for the Coors crowd, a pale ale, Irish red (I guess a Killian clone), stout, a weiss, an IPA and two special brews. One a wee heavy, and a "Belgian strong".

Being a hop lover I opted for the IPA. Decent but nothing to write home about. Sufficiently bitter but lacked (at least to my liking) enough finishing hops to satisfy me. My wife who doesn't share my affinity for hops liked the wee heavy. I thought it was true to it's style. She liked the stout although I felt it was a bit thin. The Belgian strong was I suppose a dubbel. Dark, strong and probably one of their better attempts.

Food is pub fare. I won't say it sucked, but pretty close. At least what we had. I had a buffalo chicken salad for $15. It came drenched, I mean dripping in bleu cheese dressing. The chicken was pretty tasty but that much bleu cheese ruined it for me. The wife had a turkey burger she described as mediocre.

I wouldn't recommend this place although the ambiance was rather nice. If you want good beer you'll go elsewhere. (1,364 characters)

A- visit on a Saturday night, Not to crowed. Sat at the bar not very well lighted. The had a guitar player singing.

Q- Was good

S- Service was very good.

S- Selection was about 8 or 9 of Tun Tavern brew beer and 2 major brands for those who go to a Brew pub to drink other beer rather than brew pub's beer

F- Food was ok we just order wings and they can out luke warm, over bread , and drench in hot sauce. Had better during another visit.

V- Value is reasonable (468 characters)

Went here for my buddies bachelor party and my father told me that he and I have been there before but I never really remembered it.

We went there on a Saturday evening so the place was totally packed. Had live entertainment which was nice to listen to. The beer sampler was pretty good I really enjoyed the IPA.

I ordered the chicken tenders and they just give you 5 tenders w no fries for 9 bucks. The one guy got a philly cheese and it was loaded up. So just guessing what you order varies portion size.

Overall it was a really cool place and would like to go back on a week day and see if I would enjoy it with less of a crowd. (636 characters)

I almost skipped this place during my trip to ac due to some of the reviews i read on here. Sure glad I took the chance. first off a convention was in town and the place was absolutely packed, but we were seated within minutes. They even made a spot for our stroller to fit by the table. All the workers we came in contact with were very friendly, I ordered the all american ipa it was served quickly and ice cold. One of the most enjoyable brews ive had in a long while. The food was phenomenal ,we got some burgers they were served quickly, perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. worth every penny, and reasonably priced for atlantic city. got a growler of the ipa to take back to the room with us and enjoyed it in the jacuzzi. i got two brews, two pint glasses to take home ,two awesome burgers, a growler full of ipa and it cost me less than 60 bucks. (855 characters)

As the only brewery/brewpub in the area for many miles, it would be nice if the Tun Tavern stepped up their game, but they seem pretty complacent. Atmosphere is pretty general and sportsbar-ish. They have a decent sized bar and a good amount of tables. The bartenders were friendly though maybe a bit distant. Their beer is all house-brewed, with a general spread of different styles. The beers are decent, but none are really distinctive or great. The food is decent...standard comfort foods mostly. Prices are a bit steep for what you get. You might be better off going to the casino for free drinks, and at least a chance to get your money back.

Save your receipt for free parking in the adjacent lot. (705 characters)

It may be an oxymoron, but this is definately a commercial brewpub aimed at the masses... The place has a natural buzz about it being situated so close to all the casinos, but other than that the decor and atmosphere are rather run of the mill though the open design is a definite plus... Service was textbook average... Six inhouse offerings which run the gamete from light lager to stout... The food was typical bar far with an even mix between salads / sandwiches and entrees... The prices seemed a bit high, but I guess not so much my tourist destination standards... Worth a vist if you're in the area, but not a destination in and of itself... (649 characters)

This brewpub is in the Sheraton Hotel where my wife and I are staying in Atlantic City. I've been there twice already, once for a meal and once just for drinks, and thought I should post my review.

The atmosphere is very similar to a chain restaurant/sports bar with a lot of televisions and a big open space with a very large bar. The brewing equipment is close to the ceiling or behind a wall all the way in the back of the restaurant. It's kind of dark in there which I usually like but there are also some neon blue lights for "atmosphere" which were kind of cheesy.

When we went to eat the food was pretty good but the service was mediocre. Nothing bad but we did wait for nearly twenty minutes before anyone came to greet us. Other than that it was average. The service at the bar was much better, although we did have to wait again for a little while before anyone acknowledged we were there. Once attended to the service was friendly and the bartenders made sure we had a drink in front of us.

They had about eight of their own beers on tap plus standard macros but I felt that many of the beers were a bit watered down and light bodied. I had the Oktoberfest which was pretty weak and the All American IPA and Leather-Neck Stout which were decent. I wish I had more time to sample the other beers but the bar closed. I'll probably go back tomorrow and sample some more.

I was pretty excited to find a place in AC that had good beer and am glad that I got to check this place out. Nothing too exciting but worth checking out if you're in the area. On a side note, there was a guy named James Klapp playing acoustic guitar, mostly covers of classic rock songs but every once in a while he threw in some nice indie stuff like Sufjan Stevens and Radiohead. I was drinking my IPA and was shocked when I heard the beginning of Bulletproof. Supposedly he performs there regularly and adds a bit to the atmosphere. (1,920 characters)

My wife and I patronized the Tun Tavern for the first and most definitely last time yesterday, and we were terribly disappointed both by the food and the beer.

We ordered their beer flight/sampler as we do at every brewpub we visit, and were disappointed to learn that they only give you five stingy 3oz samples even though they feature at least seven styles, so if your desire is to try all of their beer styles you need to order two samplers. I thought their beer styles were generally okay, but not good enough to bother going back for.

The food was also just okay. For dinner we ordered the Brew House Chili and the Colonial Chicken Club, both of which were okay; that is, they weren't bad but they also weren't good enough to merit their prices. For dessert we ordered a Granny's Warm Apple Cobbler, a Chocolate Decadence, and coffee. Except for the decent ice cream that came atop each dessert, the desserts were definitely sub-par. The coffee was okay.

The bill was a few dollars short of $50.00; at that price, mediocrity just doesn't cut it.

My advice is to steer clear. (1,083 characters)

I was split in judging the atmosphere of this place. On the one hand, it was a nice, spacious restaurant that highlighted historical military artifacts. On the other hand, it was jam-packed with tourists who neither added nor detracted from my experience. The food was no better than a chain restaurant's, and the quality of the beer was not good. The only standout that I've had just recently was the Hefeweisse (A-). Service was friendly, but in short supply. In short, this establishment is another example of one which benefits from a slam-dunk location. If you want better beer, hit the Firewaters beer bar in the Tropicana Marketplace for a great selection of quality brews. (680 characters)

The atmosphere upon walking in was welcoming. On a random Summer Thursday night, the place was relatively empty and welcoming. The vacancies were inviting...

Securing a couple seats at the bar was key. The time/space my friend and I racked up was great... we sampled whatever was available and got pints of what we figured was appropriate. I was a fan of their Boardwalk Brown. Very tasty!

The service was scant yet attentive. The bartender was occupied with various other tasks besides us. However, it didn't matter how attentive she was, we felt that we were served nicely. The quality, in my opinion was fine. It was pleasing at the same time curious. I feel they are aware they have improving to do.

The selection was OK. For the Summer selection, it was decent. The Robust Stout and Boardwalk Brown were MUST try's for me.

Food I cannot comment on. It seemed that it was served late and it looked good... but that's all I can say.

Prices were legit. (959 characters)

My wife and I went to A.C. for our first anniversary. We made a special little trip to the Tun tavern. When we first walked in we were very impressed with the size of the place and a very modern look to it. The bartender's there kind of reminded me of coyote ugly. I ordered a sampler which was very good.A Solid group of beer's. My favorite was the leatherneck stout until I had the Maibock. I ordered a pint of the Maibock served in a highball glass. Left a funny film on the palate though after a few sips. The prices were cheap for pint's at $4.50. A sampler of their 5 beer's were 5.50 for 4oz glasses. Service was very good and if I am in A.C. I will definetly come back. (676 characters)
