Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, quite floral and some citrus. In the taste, dry hops and floral, with a hint of yeast. A small hop bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel. A really nice hop presence, with a balanced floral presence.

Review from notes taken on 6/7/10.

Served in an oversized mug, this brew is presented with a thin lace of white carbonation covering the surface of the liquid. Minimal lacing effect is left on the glassware. Slightly sweet aroma of pear, grains, a touch of hops an a sulfuric twang. Taste has a mild mixture of bitter hops, fresh grainy malt sweetness and a surprising presence of alcohol. Watery feel that is moderately carbonated. Lasting aftertaste that lingers with a flavor of grain, herbal hops and slightly drying alcohol.

This was brought to me with a big, fluffy finger of bone-white head with great retention. Its color was a golden-yellow with NE-quality clarity. The nose had a lightly sweet malty aspect. Mouthfeel was medium with a slight taste of apricot on the tongue. The finish was crisp and dry with lots of apricot flavor lingering. Was anyone else put in mind of Magic Hat # 9 when they tried this beer?

Dom Blonde Kolsch...on tap at the Harrisburg location....

Appearance-light gold color, whispy white head, fills up the pint glass generously with very active carbonation.

Smell-light grain, sugars, subtle hop, sweet malt, really spicy nose.

Taste/Mouthfeel-light but flavorful, refreshing taste, subtle sugary flavor mixed with like spice and alcohol, smooth and easy.

Drinkability-easily drinkable, very easily to finish without thinking of it.

Overall-I've decided I really like the Kolsch style, ABC's version is quite good. Recommended.

On tap @ the Harrisburg location on 7/17/09. Served in an over sized mug.

Pours a clear gold, with a thin covering of creamy brite-white head. Retains about at the same level, leaving some decent patchy lace back. The aroma is floral feeling, with the tiny bit of spice presence. There is some sweetness underneath but it's coming off as a little too sticky sweet. I'm also picking up a slightly unpleasant tinny feel to this at. It's not too prominent but it is noticeable.

The taste is sweet malts, with a firm bready edge to it, and a firm dose of moderate hops. This combines with some light fruity notes to finish this out dry, with a fairly clean feel. The mouthfeel is lighter-medium bodied, with a crisp carbonation and a relatively easy nature.

Beyond the nose, this drank pretty nicely. Dry and lightly hoppy with good backing malts and a crisp body. Decent effort from the ABC.

On-tap at Market Cross Pub:

Pours clear golden with a thin white head that becomes a ring. A bit of lacing sticks.

The smell is of mild floral notes with a touch of honey.

The taste is sweet honeyish graininess with floral. Not complex, rather mild - but pleasant, and well-within style. Crisp, dry, refreshing finish.

It has a firm, light body.

A great "session" brew that is a nice, traditional example of the style. Easy-drinking with a pleasant pleasant taste and feel.

P- ABC brewery...from notes.

A- 12 oz pint arrived with light head and a hazy mid yellow hay color. Head ran away quickly and left a light lacing.

S- a sweet yeasty bread like malt. alcohol and grassy earthtones.

T- biscuity and fruity pear ester. the pear was hidden buti could pick it up. light on the alcohol and malt as well.

M- dry and earthy. A slightly crisp refreshing beer. Felt like a upscale lager to me.

D- a nice beer to get a sixer of if they would have it in the specialty variety pack. Easy to put down but i enjoy sipping beers.

A: Clear, medium golden color with a little bit of quickly dissipating head.

S: Mostly a grainy malt smell, and a little bit sweet.

T: Refreshing biscuity taste, a little bit of a sweet taste probably white grapes, kind of a bitter finish.

M: Moderate carbonation with a mostly light, smooth feel.

D: Easy to drink, not really a stand-out, but a pretty good brew.

On tap at ABC Harrisburg on 2/14/08.

A - Clear, pale golden/straw colored body with one-finger soapy white head and light carbonation. Excellent lacing throughout.

S - Sweet bready malt with some lemon tang and mild grassy hops. Also got a bit of white grape sweetness as well.

T - Bready/biscuity malt and some toasted grain paired with light sweet fruit and grassy hops. Finishes mildly bitter with hops and lemon zest.

M - Light to medium body with mild carbonation and just a tad of oily slickness, but largely a watery texture. Nice light bitter brushing on the tastebuds for the finish.

D - Very easy to drink. A newbie for ABC, but already one of my favorites. Very crisp and clean.

Served on tap at ABC's Harrisburg location.

Clear golden body with a thin film top, not much of a head.

Aroma is crisp and clean with light hops.

Flavor is sharp, crisp, and very refreshing. Bread, malts, faint floral hops.

Paired well with Jägerschnitzel during Oktoberfest.

Served in a standard pint at the Harrisburg Brewery.
A - A crystal clear light amber and golden w/ a practically non-existent head and no lace was collected on the glass.

S - The smell seemed right w/ gentle malt odors and a slightly sweet aroma.

M - A light bordering on watery feel w/ a slight sweetness from the malt and moderate carbonation.

T - The taste is lightly malty w/ a sweet crispness and subtle fruit (apple, pear) and a bit of grainy flavor. There is light spice and subtle german malt - The taste is pretty tame overall.

D - A tasty and mild ale. It does its job and is refreshing, but didn't really hold my interest. I would probably choose not to order it again even though one pint was ok.

A pint glass served at the Harrisburg brewery.

A: The kölsch has a light, airy pale yellow color, water with a few drops of yellow food coloring, just enough to add some depth of color. The head laces nicely all around the glass.

S: The nose has a crisp clean noble hop aroma, floral and kinda earthy. Some malty assertiveness manages to sneak out as well.

T: The body stays true to the nose, focusing on the delicate interaction of pale malts and crisp hops. The malts are solid and biscuity, creating a strong body on which to build the hops. Those hops are earthy and dirty, adding a floral element to the ale. Both components meld seemlessly, allowing no imperfections to emerge.

M: The crisp hops are quite refreshing, making me want to take a progressively larger sip each time.

D: This style leaves little to chance, any off flavors would pop up easily. Luckily this beer doesn't seem to have any flaws, delivering a solid mouth and great taste.
