12 oz bottle poured into a snifter.

Pours a very clear amber color with a finger of foam that fades away rather quickly. Aroma is faintly bitter, with some vegetal hops. Doesn't spell particularly appetizing.

First sip is firmly bitter, with an aspirin like bitter finish. This is certainly more of an English-style IPA, with minimal hop flavor coming through. This seems to be overloaded with bittering hops, but the malt backbone isn't quite sweet enough to support the bitterness.

This beer is pretty disappointing to me. It is one-dimensional, and that dimension is harsh bitterness.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tumbler

A- Copper body. Just off white head, hangs at an eighth inch. A bit of lacing.

S- Toasty malt, with a slight caramel sweetness. Earthy, piney hop character.

T- Malt is bready, and just a faint sweetness. Earthy and piney hop.

M- Medium body. Slight sweetness, but a nice dull bitterness to keep it in check. Finish is dry.

O- BA claims this is an American IPA, but ABC claims its an English IPA. For an English IPA, this is pretty solid. More balanced, and the hop character is earthy, and has that dull bitterness.

Solid average IPA. Small head and okay lacing. Light copper color.
Nose gets pine and floral mostly. Nice bite with a sweet taste behind the hops. Not really bready but almost wine like. Carbonation is a little above average.
Nothing unique here except the grape undertone. Good solid choice and my first beer from this brewery.
