On draft at O'Brien's

Appearance is a murky dull orange hue, minimal off-white head, moderate lacing

Smell is sweet hops [pine/citrus], hints of candy bubblegum, grassy and floral tones

Taste is big pine-grassy hops with a dominating alcohol presence initially, sweet fruits and bread malts soon enter, finishes dry and bitter

Mouthfeel is full-bodied, oily thick texture coats the tongue and mouth, prickly carbonation

Drinkability is moderate, very strong and hoppy DIPA that is in the 'hop bomb' range, the stiff alcohol presence impairs extensive drinking (574 characters)

Cask @ Solana Beach. Pours clear orange-gold with no head (cask). Oily body. Heavy perfume aroma with lots of grapefruit and pine, more like a frersh hop IPA would smell. Lovely taste. Great mix of grapefruit, mango, resin, pineapple, with just a bit of malt to keep it in control. No carbonation and a click mouthfeel. For the record, this is a double version of Swami's. (372 characters)

Pint at Pizza Port Solana Beach for almost five dollars, also tasted from a growler courtesy of Christian, also known as AlohaC a couple weeks back at Port

A-Golden orange color mixed with a little red, also a bit murky, head was about 3/4 inch and creamy white, did not stick around for too long, some retention, some lacing

S-All kinds of hoppiness, pine, fruit, flowers, you name it, also some sweet malt, grassy accents, some berries oddly, a hint of booze, some bread, and green apples

T-Starts off with a big pine flavor, some chewy malt in the middle that leaves a biscuit-like feel, sweet fruit and more hops in the finish, citrus did not surface until a little later, tangerines and nectarines were the dominating fruity flavors, hops started to die down as it got warmer and warmer, could really tell it was a DIPA by the end after it being disguised pretty well at the beginning, nicely balanced though and enjoyable

M-Sweet, dry, and citrusy mouthfeel, medium level of carbonation but could use a little more, medium body, taste lingered for a long time and left a nice bitter sensation

D-Could drink another pint of this maybe but the 9.2% ABV could really get me after a while, smooth, a bit heavy on the stomach because it is a sweeter DIPA, some alcohol in the taste

Saw that this was their anniversary beer and wanted to try it again, it did not get much justice out of a plastic dixie cup the first time around, this beer was quite good fresh, would drink again if they ever brew this again but that is doubtful, recommmended (1,549 characters)
