Two reviews, whooo, rare tick.

A - Hazy golden bodied beer appropriate for the style. White head, moderate lace on the sides.

S - Belgian yeast, slight bit of banana and clove, some honey sweetness. Actually, I didn't even know there was supposed to be hops in this until someone told me, but they aren't there.

T - Tastes like the nose, a little bit of spice character there, but mostly it is the sweeter honey and banana/fruity taste. Also, still no hops.

M - Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly dry finish.

O - Not bad, I would recommend if you are a fan of the style, although I'm not. Not that I would turn it down, but if I ended up at Pizza Port and this was on tap I'd go another directions.

On-tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach

A: The beer pours a clear golden with a big white head.

S: An intense banana aroma along with plenty of spices, particularly clove. There is a substantial bready malt character along with a moderate sweetness. A hint of pear and yeast on the back end.

T: Starts off with sweet fruits such as apple and pear. Tons of banana and toffee flavors. Lots of clove and spice notes, too. A fair bit of yeast flavor. Overall, a very nice flavor.

M: The body is light to medium with a medium carbonation.

O: Just a top notch beer. I really enjoyed this one.

Enjoyed on-tap @ Pizza Port Brewing in Carlsbad, CA for $5. Tapped from the Black Non-Labeled Tap Handle into a Pint Glass and shared with Ralph. This beer is from the Ocean Beach location the bartender says.

Aroma- Starts with a small malt and good amount of hop aroma. Descent fruit character here and has a bit of spice in the background.

Appearance- Received with a good copper color body, 3 finger head that is creamy but not that good of retention. Leaves light lacing on the sides.

Flavor- Starts with high malts, good fruity taste, and a good amount of bitterness at the end. Very sweet and has orange peel like taste. Awesome!

Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, Medium-High Carbonation, and leaves AWESOME fruit/hop taste on the palate. Superb!

Overall Impression- Starts with fruity taste and then has spice mid way through and then fruit at the finish again! This is a GREAT Belgian Pale Ale by Port Brewing! Semi-Easy to drink and perfect for the style. Would recommend to anyone here!

Smooth and crisp golden ale.

Attractive golden amber in the tulip glass. A brief hint of a head but great mouthfeel of prickly carbonation. Rich and fruity. Well-endowed with malt but not a heavy body. Hint of candied pineapple. Great rasp of Belgian flavors. Yeasty and toasty. Modest bitterness and not much hop aromatics. Well balanced with sweetness, sharp fruitiness, and bitterish farmhouse funk.

This was a nice surprise with such a wealth of flavors and so utterly drinkable. Reminds me of one of my favorites, Belgica from Great Divide, only a stronger flavor and less suave.

On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 4oz taster stange.

A - A finger of white foam settles to a thin cap, leaving splotchy lacing behind. Hazed golden body.

S - Belgian yeast, light pepper, stone fruits, and bananas. Not getting much of the hops promised in the description - maybe a bit of citrus.

T - Yeast, some banana and stone fruits, and a pale honey malt backdrop. Perhaps a bit of orange and lemon citrus flavor. Lightly spicy and estery finish.

M - Dry medium body, with active pleasant carbonation.

D - Not what I was expecting from Pizza Port or from the description, but it's a flavorful and enjoyable Belgian Pale Ale that I'd actually like to have again.
