A real good looking dark, thick black and brown color with a near solid 1" head on it, off white tan in color. Aroma was heavy roast and chocolate malt. Coffee is mild. Hops are not. Cascade I'm guessing. Maybe nugget.

Taste brings out chocolate, a solid bitterness that isn't too much, but doesn't mess around either. Its plenty strong and enjoyable. Pizza Port isn't as good at hiding alcohol in this beer as most. I think this one would be even better if it was a little sweeter, more chocolate. As it stands, it leans a little too bitter, carbonated to be in the excellent realm of a say, 'deez nuts'.

Its a good strong stout. Still not in the top 10 beers I'm hoping to be on tap at Pizza Port anytime I roll in there though, but not something I'm gonna be disappointed in either.

off white tan color head approaching a full inch in size, dark black appearance. Lots of hops in the aroma, roast and chocolate in no small portions either. I dunno if I want this much bitterness in the aroma.

Taste, bitterness comes back down a tad, but still this is definitely an imperial of stouts. Its big. Its alcohol wafts all over your face. Its like that old school imperial export style of stout. No adjuncts. Mouthfeel is too much bitter roastiness for it to be a return beer for me, unless their tap selection is totally fucked next time Im there, which it never is.

On tap at PP OB. Snifter. Brewed at Pizza Port San Clemente.

A: Black with an imposing light brown head. Great retention.

S: Dark bittersweet chocolate with a robust roasted malt profile. Coffee is balancing. There's a little licorice.

T: Bittersweet dark chocolate in the flavor as well with accompanying earth, licorice, and roasted grains. Coffee is strong here and there's a lower moderate bitterness. The bitter cocoa coffee finish is drying with evident alcohol.

M: Upper medium body with moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is silky and creamy.

Overall: A nice Imperial Stout. Prominent dark malts with a pleasant coffee presence. Alcohol flavor is a little too strong, even for 9%.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach, CA.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Thick foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt and some slight coffee and cocoa aromas. Taste is much the same with a slightly acidic quality. There is a medium amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

A solid appearance of dark, thick brown and black color with a full 1" of head on it in the off white style. Solid dose of roast all up in the chocolate malt. Coffee aspect is mild. Hops are not, solid bitterness like a west coast porter. Nugget/Cascade possibly.

Chocolate comes out in the taste, bitterness solid but not distracting. The heat is present in this one. Could use a little more sweetness to balance out the bitter and heat.

A good offering, but not anything I clamor for when I visit PP.
