On tap at PP Solana Beach. Brewed in honor of opening day at the Del Mar Race Track. Features Citra, Columbus and Simcoe in the hop bill.
My pint arrives with a small foam cap which dissipates quickly. The beer is a clear, deep amber color. Minimal lacing. The aroma is huge citrus hops and hemp. Orange blossom and mango come to mind. Taste starts out with hoppy bitterness up front, orange peel, sweet tangerine, and grapefruit follow. Copious amounts of citrus flavor mid-palate give way to a dry, bitter finish loaded with grapefruit rind, which lingers nicely. Feel is bis big enough for a DIPA without being sticky or cloying, which I really like. Overall, yet another incredible brew from Pizza Port. Possibly my new favorite DIPA from these guys, given the great hop flavors without the sweet, sticky, overly malty characteristics sometimes associated wih a beer of this caliber. Highly recommended!
