Pours a clear light golden yellow with a frothy white head. Smell is really citrusy. You can already tell this is loaded with El Dorado. Floral, piney, herbal, and a little tropical. Taste is very lemony upfront with loads of pine resin, dankness, maybe a little peppery, and slight mango/guava. Malt is barely noticeable but adds a nice amount of sweetness. No alcohol detected. Bitterness isn't overwhelming and complements the citrus flavors very well. Mouthfeel is super clean and crisp. Really easy to drink. Not overly carbonated; I'd say it's right where it should be. Overall a really good DIPA. Price point is a bit higher than their other 6 packs, but considering these are 16oz cans it's not a bad deal at all compared to the 12oz 6 packs. I was expecting this to be a total juice bomb but I'm glad they went in another direction. It's definitely a pleasant break from all the super tropical fruity beers out there.

My sweet hell... literally. Was this thang brewed by a malt liquor company? All kinds of sticky, but not good sticky like that stuff your grandmamma takes for her glaucoma - think more like a green apple slurpee that spilled in your cousin Karl's pick-up truck and left to rot in the Alabama sun for two weeks. Feel is lighter than Taylor Swift when she steps on a scale.

Raul does not recommend.

16 oz big kid can. "Canned on 7/16/15" stamped on the bottom.

Poured into a teku glass.

A: Pale orange in color. Excellent clarity. Two fingers of bleached white head. Foam is comprised of big and small bubbles. Leaves sticky lacing on the glass. Retention is moderate, as it's taking about a minute for the head to fad. Carbonation is ample, with several streams of small bubbles rising to the surface to form the head.

S: Pretty dank. Shot of evergreen and stone fruit up front. Big shot of orange pith and rind in the nose. Just a slightly touch savory (onion/garlic). This stirs more as the beer warms. Malt sweetness present, which leads to the fullness of the fruity aroma.

T: Big dank fruity bitterness up front. Dragonfruit, pear, spiced dried tropical candy, sugared grapefruit rind and ginger. The bitterness firmly reasserts itself on the finish. BItterness hits hard on rind and floral notes. Aftertaste is more citrus rind and the same tropical sweetness .

M: Very pleasant. Medium bodied with plenty of malt backbone. The tiny carbonation is wonderfully lively on the tongue, scrubbing the palate and leaving you ready for another sip.

O: Man, what a killer beer. Excellent flavors throughout. Surprisingly bitter on the finish, which I enjoy. A+ will buy again. Reminds me a lot of Stone Enjoy By, only with less garlic and more bitterness.

On Tap

Churchill's Pub & Grille

Clear burnt orange with a moderately-sized, creamy bone-white head. Leaves lots of sticky lacing down the glass.

Floral, citrus, and grassy aroma, along with some definite malt sweetness. A big, bold, expressive DIPA, but too much malt sweetness compared to what I really like to see in these style beers from Pizza Port.

Huge bitterness, floral notes, grass, and bready sweetness. Initially, there's some dank marijuana and citrus character, but after just a few sips the overwhelming bitterness and sweetness take over. This is a tough pint to put down.

Medium to full in body for the style, slightly chewy, with moderate carbonation.

A huge DIPA--too bitter for my liking, ultimately, but not poorly executed.

Canned on date of 08/26/15

Appearance - Pours hazy and light golden in color with an off-white, half finger head. Fair retention results in a thin, broken layer of suds across the surface.

Smell - The aroma is dominated by citrus and caramel. Light pine.

Taste - Follows the nose to a degree. Citrus, pine and a touch of floral character make up the hop profile, while the malts show the caramel found in the nose, but also a surprising amount of graininess. The grain lingers along with a bit of pine resin and grapefruit pith.

Mouthfeel - Medium to full in body with moderate carbonation. Slightly sticky texture with a mostly dry finish.

Overall - Decent DIPA, but the grain and pine get to be a bit too much for my liking. I probably wouldn't seek this out again.

16 oz can poured into snifter canned on 7/2/15

A: big head looked creamy but turned more soap as it dissipated great light orange hue with great clarity

S: huge sweet grapefruit smell with maybe some light caramel malts but very bright with the citrus grapefruit

T: wow very sweet nice juicy grapefruit but some herbal hops to with a sticky surprising amount of bitterness

M: medium to sticky really clings and lingers on the palate

O: this is a pretty tasty beer its a little sweet, but nice and juicy with a zinging bit of bitterness on the end. I could see drinking a glass of this and then really feeling it after wondering where the beer went.

Pretty good Double IPA by pizza port but it does not hold a candle to Swami which is much more a juicy hop character. This one has more of a piney hop character
