Reviewed from notes at Pizza Port Carlsbad.
A- Deep brass golden hue into pint glass. Big creamy white head to one finger with good retention. Thick ring deposits huge blanketed webs of lace on the glass.
S- More on the tropical hop side here than Get Wet by Port Juicy peach, mango, passion fruit and even some lime feel. Hops foremost and then some slight caramel with the higher ABV. Bread and some biscuit.
T- Translates from the nose accurately with the fruity hops still in the forefront. Hops pack a punch of mango, peach, tropical, stone fruits with hints of pine and flowers coming along. Slight cracked grains, caramel and yeast bread, biscuit/crackers.
MF- Creamy overall texture with a nice higher end carbonation. Body is moderately thick and works nicely with the slight caramel and big hop blast. Finishes with medium bitterness.
More tropical than the also good Get Wet IPA. Hops dominant but the bigger body and some malts are welcome and help balance the hops and compliment them.

Wet Hopped higher ABV version of High Tide
On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad - Poured into a pint glass
A: Pours a dark amber with a huge rocky white head that does not go away and leaves tons of lacing on the glass.
S: The nose is really great on this one. Loads of tropical fruits like mango and apricots as well as grapefruit and sweet malt.
T: The taste is even better than the nose with massive amounts of tropical fruit hop flavors like mango, pineapple, and grapefruit. There's also a nice pine bitterness with some malt sweetness to balance it all on the finish. One of the tastiest IPAs I've had.
M: The feel is creamy and medium bodied...just right.
O: This is a damn good IPA and the fact that it's wet hopped makes it something special. Tons of tropical fruit and malt sweetness with just the right amount of hop bitterness. Extremely enjoyable and one I'd have all the time if it was available to me. Anyone living near one of Pizza Port locations is very spoiled...
