On tap a Pizza Port Carlsbad a couple of times. More like a couple of pints, a couple of times, this beer is really like those Lay potatoes chips commercials, I seriously cannot have just one. . .
Pours out a sturdy black and brown liquid, good viscosity, 3/5" head, light beige in color.
Aroma was choclatey. Never picked up on the smoke angle (I didn't even notice the beer was called 'smokin' deez nuts, I thought it was just deez nuts). Roast is less noticeable than the chocolate.
Taste was amazing and only took a few sips to land itself as my all time favorite Pizza Port non hoppy offering. Decadent amounts of dark chocolate, tons of coconut flavor. This was like drinking an Almond Joy. Still didn't taste smoke. The coconut hangs heavy on the mouthfeel, its just wave after wave of chocolate and coconut. Mild nutty presence through the mouthfeel. I could drink this over and over again. One of my favorite beers of all time.

On tap at Pizza Port in Carlsbad, CA.
Billed as a smoked coconut porter.
Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, smoke, and toasted coconut. Taste is much the same with a slight coconut flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.
