12oz bottle into a pint glass
no bottling dates but was picked up from the brewery less than 1 week ago

A: Pours a slightly hazy, dark golden yellow with 2.5 fingers width of billowy white head. Head has good retention before dissipating down, leaves some small patches of lacing. 4.25

S: Super dank, resinous, citrus rind, tropical fruits, subtle pine. Fantastic nose. 4.75

T: Big bitterness, lots of resinous pine, dank, grapefruit pith, a bit of booze. Malt backbone to balance. Incredible. 4.75

M/D: Full body, carbonation appropriate,good drinkability. 4.5

O: Divine. One of the best IPA’s I’ve had in years. 4.75

Intensely tropical and fruity, this one delivers. It's a very pretty beer with deep golden color and a nice white head. The smell is pretty straight forward and one dimensional without being overly simplistic. All sorts of berries and tropical fruit pop from this one. The taste is a more intense version of the nose with mango leading the way. Clean with a low bitterness on the finish and no detectable alcohol from the 7.3%. If this was easily available in my part of town, this would enter the rotation along side Head Hunter as a staple in my fridge.

This is a homerun for Matt Allyn and company up in Meadville, PA lately everything I've had from them has been killer...Voodoo has matured and I can buy a case of Good Vibes in 12 ounce bottles!!!

Pours a hazed apricot golden orange glowing body with a big frothy white head, which clings to the sides of my imperial pint glass. Really appetizing it looks like the essence of hops perfect color for a west coast style IPA.

Aroma explodes into the senses with mango, tropical fruit, dank qualities, citrus fruit very bright and aromatic the label mentions the use of alot of new age hops 5 additions during the boil and 2 hops used for dry hopping.

Flavor citrus rinds, dank mary jane, tropical fruits balance it out with some sweetness bready light base malts do the same. A really intense yet balanced hop bitterness so easy to consume and delicious to experience the bounty of hops utilized in this beer hit the hop head's palate just perfectly.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied even carbonation slick hop oils lubricate everything dry perfect finish complete with tasty hop burps.

Overall, the best IPA I've ever tasted out of Voodoo brewing company the skills of Matt Allyn have definitely developed plus I heard the head brewer is kicking ass!

I was in the mood for a solid IPA with hints of citrus, pine, grassy meadows, and the relaxed life; I was very happy having chosen this. The right beer at the right time, this golden colored beer with a copper hint to it, sat below an decent whitish lacing and filled my nose and tummy with the goods.

Part of a beer share, this followed a La Cumbre Full Nelson and a Permanent Funeral. Both tough acts to follow and in reality, for many reasons this should have gone first. Still, it held its own.

A- Cloudy pale gold in color, the appearance reminds me of a wheat beer. Frothy finger thick head. Heavy carbonation. 4.1

S- Marijuana-like dankness, pine, lemon, a variety of aromas. Bitterness is apparent on the nose. 4.1

T- Very fruity and I'm still thinking wheat beer, maybe like A Lil Sumpin, but with some resinous pine and a lemony finish. 4

M- Light, but then again I had this after two DIPAs. I am really enjoying drinking this and feel it is easy to throw back. The bitterness and dry finish are big, but there's a mellow malt aspect. 4

This is a sleeper of a beer. I'd never heard of it, but I'm impressed. This beer does a lot of things right. 4.05

First Visit to the Voodoo Brewery Brewpub was great, worth checking out for sure.

This was from a 2L growler filled the day before reviewing.

Look: Mostly clear, Copper tone, about an inch and a half of white head. Poured into a Voodoo Pub Glass. Nothing out of the ordinary for this kind of IPA

Smell: Arguably the best part of this beer. Phenomenal and shoots out of the glass. I get a lot of tropical fruit, Mango, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, slight berry. The Galaxy and Mosiac are certainly there and at the forefront of this beer. Slight Pine

Taste: Wow you get everything that you smell, lots of tropical fruit with a pine background to hold it in check. Very juicy taste. Bitter but not to a fault. The alcohol is hidden well and this is just a great tasting beer. This isn't a crisp west coast like Pliny type finish it's a wet finish that lingers and is really good.

Mouthfeel: Well carbonated, good body, high side of thin, Just enough of a malt presence to support the flavor profile.

Overall: Can't wait to have this in cans. This is a world class IPA that is right up there with the bests in show. Voodoo hit a home run with this. I'm going to finish this growler off now!

I usually stay away from anything IPA that is too hoppy, but I absolutely love this beer. Very smooth with great flavor. The hard to get hops that make up this beer compliment each other perfectly and give it an amazing taste. Curt Rachocki, the mastermind behind this new brew delivers a masterpiece. Well done sir...

On tap at Voodoo Brewing Company in Meadville, PA.

Pours a clear light amber, with a small quarter inch head, and a good amount of lacing.

Smells just delightful- big herbal pine notes, grapefruit, and the slightest smidgen of sweet malt.

This beer has possibly the cleanest bitterness I've ever had. It's quite bitter, herbal dank and piney, but it doesn't linger at all- it's almost refreshing. I get a bit of menthol here, which is a nice touch. There's also a healthy dosing of IPA-style citrus, grapefruit and orange. Not a whole lot of malt flavor noticed, it's there, providing a good backbone for the beer, but doesn't stand in the way of the hop assault at all.

This has a clean, sprightly, and crisp mouthfeel, just amazingly drinkable. It's light and heavy at the same time, if that makes sense. Light in the sense that it's easy to drink- but heavy in the sense that there's a ton of flavor packed in there.

My ramblings above should indicate to you that you should try this beer immediately.

I found this beer to be a bit soapy. I'm going to save my other bottle for a few weeks and see if that takes the edge off of it.

Paid the price on this one $4.25 for the single.

A - Very little head on this one just a 1/4 inch that fades to good lacing. Clean darker shade of orange amber. Sticky lacing looks good.
S - Has the zesty hop citrus and mango burst of a DIPA rather than a regular IPA. Alcohol does smell rather hidden I sip.
T+M - Good juicy hop flavor with a kind of weak malty body making for a somewhat watery drinking experience. I still like it since the hops are balanced and not too bitter. It's good.

Overall this may be the best IPA I ever had from Voodoo it's hoppy, balanced, and crisp without having a massive bogged down body which is why I may think it's a bit watery.

edit: It kind of taste like a lower gravity version of HTP they brewed once a while ago. I wish they bottled that since it was more aromatic.

Thanks Tommyguz! Growler filled on a Sunday and consumed on a Thursday.

Pours an orange hazy body with thin white head of little retention, some lacing.

Smells of grapefruit and citrus, orange rind, lemon zest.

Taste is pleasing, very nice citrus hop flavors with a good malt balance, well-constructed. Medium bitterness. Aftertaste is of hop resin.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, medium carbonation, smooth, crisp, dry finish, what you want out of an IPA.

Overall, really digging this beer, would love to have it down the street from me. Would be a year-round staple.

Light copper color. The nose has the requisite hop bitterness but also something else not quite as pleasant. This is a light bodied offering. The hop finish is rather nicely done but I do not think that it is enough to qualify this beer as exceptional.

12 oz bottle poured into a shaker pint.

Yellow / straw with a short white head that dissipates quickly. Good clarity with moderate carbonation.

Wintergreen, papaya, pineapple, green florals, and bubblegum.

Honeydew melon rind, papaya skin, grapefruit zest, and tangerine zest. Pine needles, onion, and flower stem. Lots of dirty dankness.

Medium bodied, crisp, and off-dry with a medium bitterness.

I was hoping this one was going to blow me away, but I guess it's just not suited for my tastes. There is a lot of onion on the backend that is really turning me off.

This IPA from voodo is a citrus bomb! Wow!! Full of juicy hop flavor. World class IPA imo can stand with the best. This is soooo good. Voodoo continues to impress me. I'm glad this brewery is only an hour way so I have pride that this is a "local" brewey. I put voodoo against any local Brewey or larger scale craft brewery, and they can hold their own and most likely come out on top. Voodoo deserves national attention

Pours a golden color with a chill haze. Aroma of grapefruit, jasmine tea, and pine along with sweet malts.

In the taste, grapefruit, pineapple and pine. Pale malts and moderate hop bitterness balance the brew. Caramel, tropical fruit, herb and green tea. The hops are pungent and slightly spicy.

Medium bodied, well carbonated. Overall this is a nice ipa certainly worth trying and drinking again.

West coast style IPA? NO, better than west coast IPA. I was lucky enough to get some of the first batch that went into bottles. This beer has the perfect blend of citrus and piney flavored hops. The aroma is like a little bit of hop heaven. It's good to be a local.

Known as the brewer to ward off evil spirits through beer making, this time extra mojo is achieved with the newest, baddest and most gnarly hops on the market.

Burnt orange in its bright and brilliant pour, the aromatically hopped ale pushes upward with a quickly dissolving zest that gives up its perfume with ease. Citrus and tropical fruits are accompanied with herbal undertones and wrapped in a blanket of caramel and toasted pecan.

Its hop-forward flavors lead with pink grapefruit, orange, nectarine, passionfruit and gooseberry while supporting malt sweetness begins to break apart and recede gracefully. Dried citrus peel and dried apricot sing the praises of the hops and complementary esters as a soft marmalade character pulls forth. Herbal in its grassiness, a tea-like presence also rolls gently on the late palate.

Its toasty-dry finish continues to ascend with bitterness as the fruit and herb shifts to pine resin and acute grassiness. Medium-light in body, its bitterness and alcohol dry the ale with ease in order to close the session crisp, clean and highly refreshing.

12 oz.

Pours a hazy straw gold, white lacing for a head.

Smells of orange blossom honey, pineapple, and grapefruit hops.

Tastes of bready malts and maples with piney hops.

Medium body with tingly carbonation.

Very nice IPA, great flavor and aroma. This falls just short of being in the conversation with many of the very sought after IPAs of the US. This isn't going to compete with Hopslam or Zombie Dust, but it's certainly a treat to try.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.

A - Pours hazy golden yellow with a small half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving small streaks of lace on the glass.

S - Smells of pine resin, tropical fruit, bit of fresh cut grass, dash of herb and some mild caramel malt sweetness.

T - Starts off with the piney and grassy hops quickly being joined by the tropical fruit - mainly mango, grapefruit and oranges - light herbs and some mild caramel sweetness from the toasted malt. Finish is pretty bitter with some light sweetness, lingering long after the finish.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, bitter feel with only a hint of the booze it possesses.

O - I enjoyed this one. It has all of the flavors I prefer IPA's to have and it is pretty easy drinking. One of the best IPA's I have had from Voodoo.

Another thanks are in order for Tommyguz for filling and delivering me this 32oz growler. Consumed as soon as possible (3 days lapse from fill to drink) into a 22oz matching voodoo snifter. The brew appears clear copper in color with a firm white head that fades leaving patchy lace.

The aroma is fruity and tropical like orange, grapefruit and a hint of something almost like pineapple. It is herbal, piney, dank and resinous. Some neutral alcohol notes and a bit of grass wrap things up across the back.

The taste has some neutral alcohol blending to bitter grass, herbal character and rindy pulp of oranges/grapefruit. Somewhat dank like simcoe and almost a dusty or musty grain inclusion breaks things up mid-palate.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is a very good, clean brew. It has quite a depth of hop character but despite being fresh from the brewery it just doesnt pop or have any wow factor. Having said that, this is leaps and bounds ahead of others in the style. For being a house brew that is relatively easy to get and regularly available, I would have a glass of this every time it was made available to me.

Pour is hazed dark copperish amber with a small amount of tight off white head. Nose is a bit sweet, fairly tropical, malt backbone is a touch sugary, mango, pineapple, light resin. Flavor is a bit thin, more resin, less tropical, more malt. Not quite as sugary, lower carb, semi dry finish, light bitterness.

thanks to tommyg for the trade, enjoyed chilled from the IPA glass out of a 1 liter growler shared with KG, JC and tenderbranson69 and justin.

The color is dark gold with hazed look, thick white head falls to a ring with extra fine bead and spots of lace. The smell is tropical, dank and juicy with light citrus fruit odor. The feel is great, juicy tangy and moderately carbonated with mild bitter dry finish.

The taste is excellent -completely hop flavored -lemon, orange and mango with some tropical fruit flavors of grapefruit and pineapple make for a really awesome blend of passionfruit, mango with a mild lime accent. Overall the blend of delicious hops with slight malt backing is incredibly enjoyable with a feel that makes it drinkable for repeated samples. OVerall there are few out there as juicy and fresh as this, a hophead's wet dream considering it emphasizes the flavor of the hops, not just the bitternesss.
