H2P is a revamped iteration of the HTP IPA we have done in the past. For H2P this year I changed the recipe from the two previous batches, along with the hops and hop schedule. The past two batches featured Zythos and 7 C's opposite Simcoe. This year and in the future, it will be a single-hop Simcoe IPA. Since it's technically a different beer, but the soul of it is still the same, we are going to call this H2P going forward. As a former Pitt student, I know the Pitt faithful use HTP and H2P interchangeably, so it seemed fitting to change the "T" to a "2" for version 2.0. Inspired by the IPAs I fell in love with in California and deepened my college experience in South Oakland, H2P is a 8.0% west coast-style IPA brewed with four kinds of malted barley and a ridiculous amount of Simcoe hops with five kettle additions and two dry hops. The nose of the beer is rich in pine and fruit notes, with hints passion fruit, apricot, along with woodsy and floral undertones. Medium bodied, this beer starts with a mildly bitter taste that gives way to the pine and fruit notes found in the nose on the back end. H2P is a bright and crisp IPA that was designed to be highly drinkable, exceedingly flavorful and aromatic, but without being abrasively bitter. As production allows, we hope to continue to provide this beer to the Pittsburgh market and the Pitt faithful each year for Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week.

Poured from a growler into a Voodoo Pub glass. Had this a few days ago and decided I needed to revisit it.

A- Voodoo's beers always look great and this is no different. Getting a dark copper color slightly murky. Got about a finger of head on this one not a big head but leaves a lot of soapy lacing.

S- For a single hop IPA they got the most out of Simcoe they could. Right off the bat you get a mix of Passion fruit, slight tropical notes,a bit of grapefruit and musky Pine. The double dry hopping this beer got has paid off.

T- You get a brief tropical note up front with the passion fruit again that leads you into some Pine and a bitter grapefruit finish. I've never had a single hop simcoe beer display this many notes of flavor. Really impressive

M- Substantial Medium bodied IPA. Seems lower carbonated than some of their other IPA's I've had. Pleasant bitterness, no alcohol present.

O- Overall this is another very good beer by Voodoo. I feel like this brewery is incapable of making a bad beer. This years version is much improved over last years and has become a go to for me at the new Voodoo pub, I find myself craving it. H2Voodoo (1,152 characters)

Pours a dark orange color with a soapy white froth. Each sip is documented in the lacework on the glass. The smell is fantastic, big tropical fruit, pineapple, mango and grapefruit.

In the taste, pine, a bit of the mango and pineapple and even more grapefruit. Nice bitterness and firm caramel like malt backing. A big beer, but drinks like a normal IPA. Big hops, some sweet malt and multi grain bread flavor. Quite good.

Medium to full bodied, well carbonated ale. Overall, this is an IPA with good character, and unlike most Pitt teams, this is a Winner. (559 characters)

Review from notes taken more than 4 months ago. Poured from a growler into a matching voodoo snifter. The brew appears a clear copper color with a firm white cap.

The aroma is well...it smell like weed. It is very dank with some citrus rind appeal and then a touch of solvent alcohol with its own layer of alcohol driven fruity esters.

The taste is quite bitter. It is dank, herbal and catty with a mild fruity rind and citrus zest/pith quality. Not much in the way of grain or alcohol across the flavor profile.

This is medium bodied with a modest level of carbonation. Overall this brew is just super dankness... Enjoyable if thats your sorta thing. Id love to revisit this offering again since they have really been dishing out some more awesome hoppy offerings. (768 characters)
