Thanks to Tommyguz for hooking me up with a growler of this. Poured into a matching Voodoo Teku, the brew appears a brilliant polished clear copper with a white head that fades leaving spotty lace on the glass.

The smell of this is very juicy and fresh with hoppy citrus fruits, rinds and floral elements. The more I smell this it gets a little zesty. From the onset, I dont particularly feel like there is any resounding unique quality about this new hop variety based strictly from the nose.

The taste however showcases a very unique flavor profile similar to oranges. It is juicy and rindy with a pithy and pulpy bitterness somewhat zesty and citrus filled. Across the middle and into the aftertaste, you can get a sort of dirty melon accent like cantaloupe. Im not sure if that flavoring is hop or yeast derrived but ive noticed it before in other brewers offerings and im not crazy about that note.

This is a light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. This is easy drinking and a nice example showcasing the single hop profile of this new variety. I can easily state that of these single hop pale ale experiments, this was far and away the most unique and enjoyable that ive gotten to try. Having only tried one other beer that showcased these hops, I am really looking forward to seeing what else can be made with them.

Uber-pale golden color. Thick ring of foam-slope. Looks light.

Floral and citrus mandarina hop with a crispness and leafy freshness. Semi-sweet pale barley base, mint, and tangerine zest. Very clean.

Crisp and clean, with a pils-like grassiness and grainy malt, but pushing hoppy citrus notes and estery apple. Strong hop presence, in all of that Mandarina deliciousness, leading but not carrying a sessionable pale ale.

Easy stuff. Low carbonation allows a latent spiciness take form. Smooth and refreshing.
