650ml bomber poured into tulip 23/10/14, cheers alfie for the bottle

A not quite jet black with a deep cola edge, two fingers of dark tan foam retains well for the strength slowly falling leaving a few random patches of lace

S lots of coco powder, herbal notes, wood, spice I can't place, licorice root, a little booze but nowhere near the 12%+, some sweetened coffee and a hint of cola

T heaps of chocolate and wood, very earthy, cinnamon and nutmeg, herbal tea, interesting brew with scary well hidden booze

M not as thick as I would've guessed but far from thin, fluffs up fairly quickly, tannins, a little heat and a burnt woody chocolate finish

O they did a good job hiding a lot of booze, lots of earthy, woody, chocolate notes, pretty solid big ass stout going on

lots of barrel but no hard liquor to go along with it, I really can't think of other fresh oak big stouts, solid brew that's well worth trying

A-Black in the glass, with a one finger off white head.

S-Chocolate, cinnamon, coffee, oak, mild bourbon, nice roasty notes.

T-Starts with pleasant chocolate and cinnamon like flavor. Oak and very mild bourbon. Coffee and roasted malt. Nicely balanced.

M-heavier, some carbonation.

O-A rather good stout, with such a crowded style it isn't a must try but it is rather tasty.
