Undated 11.2oz poured into a chalice.

Bright copper with a white head that is bigger than expected given the abv. Decent retention with spotty lacing.

Smells of belgian yeast, alcohol, bitter fruits, and sugar. Not much complexity, and the alcohol aroma is a bit off despite the style.

The taste is very alcoholic upfront and in the finish. There's some chalky yeast and suggestions of unidentified fruit in the middle. Not bad tasting, just awkward. Perhaps a year or two in a cellar could help smooth this one out.

I found the mouthfeel to be a bit light for a quad. I'm guessing the alc renders a numbing effect. Not impressed with the drinkability.

Crystalline brown appearance, with an evanescent head. Outstanding, pungent, almost penetrating yeasty/dark-fruit bouquet. The promise of the beer’s aroma is borne out in its flavor: a profoundly full and sweet anise-and-prune sensation, followed by a teasingly bitter waft, and then a realization that this concatenation of palatal delights is, in sum, serenely mild. The mouthfeel is as creamy as any I can recall. An excellent beer.

L- Chestnut orange in a gloomy room, but held to the window suddenly it's chestnut brown + a distinct red tint that's not a common thing I've seen. Pours with 15mm pale tan fine-bubble head which is holding well - this maintaining it's head together with very high ABV% is also not at all common in my experience (something to do with surface-tension in higher ABV% beers meaning retaining a foam head is much harder... or something like that...). ps head still holding up pretty well, 2/3rds way down, circa 15mins later.
S- Milder than anticipated, I just get quite a narrow hint of scent of deep fruit, and then it's gone.
T+F- Oh wow... I wasn't anticipating this hehe. Liquor-ish, thick, a huge ABV% zingy-lick across my palate. If you could encapsulate a Brit Xmas pudding into a beer perhaps it might come out something like this. Deeply roasty-toasty with a richer ABV dominated side to it too. - Something else I realise too, I rarely combine T+F into one paragraph as here, but with a beer like this it's like the pungency (feel) is so inter-woven into the Taste that I wouldn't know where to begin to try and separate them.
O- I'm used to some notable quality higher ABV% beers skilfully hiding their strength 'into the mix' so at times you barely notice; this is not - NOT - one of those beers, this is LOUD+PROUD! banging your palate with it's naked ABV% stick; oh yes. The alcohol is absolutely worn on it's sleeve and slapping you about the chops like very few other beers I'd had.
Conclusion: Well it's certainly different. Don't serve up for anyone who usually 'only drinks Bud-Light', it might kill them... or mebbe...
It's big and pungent, and there is nothing here I didn't enjoy. Except that ABV% and how it conveys. That might be your decider too. It is one of the most impactful beers for it's ABV% facet alone that I've ever had. Now, my bottle is marked as 11.5%, and I've had plenty of higher great-quality beers (in Iceland etc) that are up to say 15% +/- and I don't recall them having quite this impact. And here's another thing, usually with an 11.5% glass of wine, say typical champagne, that might come over as average ABV on the palate, or even a touch light; so how does this 11.5% beer hit SO hard? No idea, I'd happily drink it again, but it might be say a weekly special rather than regular tipple.

Dark amber color with a thin head.
Sweet aroma with notes of caramels, prunes, lots of honey, fig jam, rum and oak.
Flavor with notes of caramels, prunes, herbal hops, booze, molasses, cloves, candies fruits, cinnamon, and grapes. Dry and bitter aftertaste with a residual sweetness.
Full liquorish body with somewhat effervescent carbonation. Alcohol of 11.5% has perfumy flavoring properties.
Decent complex Quad, though I found this a bit too sweet, almost a liquor with notes of molasses, candied fruits and some phenols.

I purchased this in a Casino Supermarket in France,

Poured the 330ml bottle in a Chimay chalice, pouring a 1inch head quickly fading

Beautiful amber color with good retention.

Smells caramel and dark fruits, and taste follows the nose.

Overall: an excellent Belgian quad unheard of and worthy of every of your pennies.

2013 750 into a snifter

Deep brown with a small one finger beige head. Quick to dissipate. Caramel and dark fruit on the nose. Taste follows the aroma. Nice spicy Belgian esters, no heat, big mouthfeel. Long time want the meets expectations. Phenomenal!

11.2oz bottle coded K17I12 poured into a teku glass at fridge temp 11% ABV per label. The beer pours light to medium brown with a pretty good volume of floaties even after an easy pour. The head is tan in color and recedes to a fat ring. No lacing. The aroma is fig, raisin, date & caramelized sugar. The taste is more of the same with semisweet caramel, liquid fruit and slight booze all swirling around before a mildly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. Overall, very good to excellent. I'm assuming this is a 2012 bottle and it was purchased discounted and at room temperature. Properly cellared, this could be dynamite. The only thing taking away from this beer is the sediment. Smells and tastes great.

Pours a hazy copper color with a medium top of beige head that dissolves quickly. Aroma is of dark malts, caramel, tofee, bread, apples, raisins, dates, figs and spices. The taste starts sweet with good notes of dark and dried fruits, while is a good amount of malts in the back with notes of roastiness, dark bread and caramel. The finish has a a slight bitterness and some notes of spices, with the malty background still in place. The flavours are actually balanced great, and the aftertaste has a good lenght and strenght. Soft and oily mouthfeel with a moderate carbonation and a medium body.
A good example of a quadruple.
