330ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glagow (£4):
Bright, golden amber with a slight haze & a 1.5cm, foamy white head with excellent retention, it holds steady for even after I started drinking the beer.

Light spice & yeast the medium strength citrus hops with pine & grapefruit. Some sweetness, mainly from some sugar & background fruits, mainly oranges & some pineapple with subtle hints of alcohol then some earthy hops & grassy notes at the end.

Hops, citrus & pine hops to begin alongside the spice & yeast. Orange & some grapefruit feature & it's well balanced with some sugar from the fruits as well. Some herbal & floral flavours come through with hints of alcohol at the end.

Almost full bodied. It's smooth with touches of alcohol without being too boozy or hard to drink. Sweet throughout with low carbonation.

A fairly good example of a Belgian IPA with more hops than I'd anticipated. Easy to drink & the dry hopping definitely made a difference with this one. Definitely a beer worth looking out for.

Champagne blonde with lots of floaties and puffy cratered white head.
Noble spice, pear esters, and rubbery yeast on the nose, plus some candy sugar.
Country white loaf, big lemon zest, some yellow apple, then herb, anise and grassy hops.
Banana chew finish and seriously numbing linger.
Creamy, hot, light-medium.

Pretty, good nose, luscious feel - technically sound. Nice layers of flavor, too - restrained phenols from the yeast, just a touch of white pepper. But too hot and underhopped (relative to each other) to work as an IPA.

0,33 l bottle (09-2016) into a tulip. Clear golden color, large white foamy head with pretty good retention and good lacing. Faint smell of belgian yeast and a hint of grass right after pouring. The taste starts off slightly sweet with malts, sugar and belgian yeast, drying up towards the slightly bitter end with a nice citrusy hoppiness. Balanced taste with no alcohol in it Medium body and carbonation. Overall a pleasant, drinkable and well balanced belgian IPA. Nice complexity, almost tripel-like with a bitter aftertaste.

Golden light amber color. Soppy white head reduces to a thick ring. Love looking at it in its own glass. Typical Sharp Edge proper glassware service.

Apricot fruitiness, floral hops, tangerine-like hops, meyer lemon, and pale malt sugars. Excellent nose. Prime authenticity.

Sweet stone fruits, leafy tartness, sweet lemon, flowery hops, grapefruit, spicy bitterness, estery pear, and slight alcohol. Rosewater and candied fruit. Unreal good.

Soft body with hefty wetness. Sparsely carbonated with a late push in the finish. Somewhat spicy.

Awesome Belgian IPA. Highly recommended, on-tap.

330 mL bottle picked up at the LCBO; coded K12J12. Finding Belgian IPAs locally is a bit of a challenge, so this bottle will serve as a small treat for me. Served slightly chilled and poured into a tulip.

Pours a bright amber-blonde colour, topped with just under two fingers of puffy, billowing white head. Very effervescent, with great retention; gobs of sticky lacing are left clinging to the glass as the froth gradually seeps away. This is an attractive beer, no doubt about it. The aroma is similarly enticing, and includes a mixture of pale malt sweetness, lemon citrus, candi sugar, apricot and yeasty, spicy phenolic notes. Nothing wrong structurally here, but the bouquet could stand to be a little less muted.

This is a tasty BIPA, but not a flawless one. The malts provide a grainy sweetness that is a bit lacking, with apricot and candi sugar notes somewhat making up for its lack of assertiveness. A touch of lemon peel also comes through, with the profile concluding amongst a cacophony of grassy, floral noble hop bitterness and phenolics muddled up with a moderate ethanol flavour. Mild heat in the aftertaste, with a lingering bittersweet flavour that I am really digging. Medium-bodied, with aggressive carbonation that contributes to the lively, crisp mouthfeel of the beer. I don't usually have good results when I mix sweltering summer days with high abv beers, but this strong ale is surprisingly refreshing.

Final Grade: 4.03 a solid A-. Urthel Hop-It should be considered well worth a try for any fan of Belgian beers looking for something with more of a bitter, grassy hop bite than usual. As a bonus, the price point in this market ($3.25 / 330 mL) is outstanding, making it the most affordable example of its style by a comfortable margin. If you're a hophead or Belgian beer fan, you'd be remiss in passing up the opportunity to grab a few bottles while it's available locally.
