Served in a branded Pilsner glass in De Prins Leeuwarden (Nethernalnd)

A – Light golden in colour with pretty big Dutch head and a lot of lacing left over. Pretty standard for the style and place.

S – Smell was dominated by a lot of malt with some hints of clove and banana. This is the second time I have come across this in a Dutch bar. The first was with a Heineken in an Irish pub.

T – The taste is as you would expect mild sweet malts but not overly sweet a little bitter hop finish that is slightly drying but there is the same odd banana middle I found with the Heineken.

MF – Astringent and drying. Not overly full in the mouth but not exactly thin either.

O – Meehhh. This is okay, it is drinkable and I suppose it is doing a fine job for what it is but it just feels and little dull to me. In short it is nothing to write home about.

look: 3.25 | smell: 3 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 2.75 | overall: 3

I had this a few times while in belgium - first on the plane all experience from a can.

This is a golden colored light looking and thick foam of white topping with visible carbonation -not much different than most -head retention is good. The smell is faint, but sweet without much in the way of hops but nothing offensive or off. The feel is light as expected but medium carbonation with mild sweet middle and semi-dry finish.

The taste is pretty ordinary and on the sweet side but not much malt depth and lacks any real hop flavor -pretty cookie cutter lager flavor which is low flavor and best enjoyed chilled. Overall I didn't mind this it is not metallic or grainy as some in the style but it does not stand out either.
