Our unfiltered Breakfast Ale is as fresh and full of flavor as a day down the shore! Fermented with Belgian ale yeast, this beer has a slightly tangy, fruity taste that pairs as well with bacon and eggs as it does with a back yard barbecue. Easy to drink with wonderful flavor, a combination that makes this beer a Summer favorite!

Thanks to yankeepride for sending this one as an extra! Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Russian River pint glass.

A: Mildly hazy, deep gold to amber, with lots of visible carbonation. A finger and a half of white fluffy head forms, but fades fairly quickly.

S: Light citrus hops up front with some yeastiness, but a larger biscuit malt presence underneath. There's a metallic undertone here that may not bode well.

T: Nice biscuity malts up front, moderate toasted character. A nice hop bitterness comes in with some citrus and resinous flavor, but mostly bitterness. Some fruity Belgian yeasty esters (apple, mild banana) show up in the middle, and increase as the beer warms somewhat. As the malt sweetness takes back over, there is a metallic flavor just before and through the swallow. It doesn't overwhelm, but its presence frustrates the palate.

M: Full-bodied for style. Average carbonation sensation, although lower than the appearance suggested. Minimal alcohol presence.

O: There's nothing particularly offensive here, other than the frustrating metallic flavor. But nor is there anything to endear it to me. I would try it again, perhaps on tap, with the hope the metal is missing.

poured into a .5 l cylinder.

A: Pours a very hazy dark golden yellow with a moderate amount of carbonation. Poured a 1 finger head with good retention, which returns with a swirl. Not much lacing. Not much to look at.

S: A pleasant Belgian style - Ample aromas of fruit yeast with pale malts and sweets and quite a bit Belgian yeast aroma.

T: Follows the smell with more fruit - I get pineapple mostly, with apple. strong hints of sweetness, yeast, and subtle of spice at the finish. A good finish. Nice.

M: Medium, a bit creamy.

O: Easy drink, light belgian style, indeed good for bfast whether at 4 or 7 am.

On the fence about recommending. Guess I'll have to try at Breakfast.

A: The beer is hazy dark golden yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down, leaving wispy lacing on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of fruity esters are present in the nose along with notes of pale malts and candi sugars as well as some hints of Belgian yeast.
T: The taste seems to be a lot fruitier compared to the smell—apples and bananas seem to stand out in particular—and has slight hints of sweetness. Hints of yeast and spices are noticeable towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink, and while the flavor is not very complex I agree with the label in that this would make a nice accompaniment to a breakfast of bacon and eggs.
