From old, undated notes. Poured from the bottle.
Dark brown/black color.
Dark khaki head; minimal lace.
Dark fruit, whiskey & a hint of chocolate in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Wood, cherry & chocolate notes. A touch of bourbon in the finish. As this warms the wood becomes more pronounced.
Nice!

Dark, mahogany brown body; thick, fluffy head. Nice combination of roasted grains and bourbon scents; fermented raisins and dates. Date, fig, and raisin flavors; bourbon barrel notes; boozy. Heavy body yet soft with a highly carbonated fizziness that weakens the overall feel; warm.
A fair whiskey barrel-aged dark beer, yet the flavors don't really present any unique or unified wow-factor and the body presents a lot of weakness with a watery, fizzy character as opposed to a smooth and velvety depth that one might expect from the style and barrel aging.

5/5...pours pitch black, like midnight. Small but foamy tan head. Bourbon backed roasted nose. Woodsy and earthy. Smooth chocolate malt and light coffee flavor folded inside a whiskey bourbon exterior. Blended all together. Light but present bitter close. Solid.

Big old dark brown pour, full inch of head, lighter brown. One of the best looking barrel aged beers I've ever seen. Aroma was good, almost equal parts bourbon and roasting. Dark malts produced coffee like bitterness, vanilla was in good supply too.
I really liked the accessability of a below 7% bourbon beer here. Solid porter base, meets barrel, nothing fancier than that, and they did it quite well. Chewy and bourbon flavor but without the heat. Solid beer.
