This is a nice little shop at Pike Place Market. It is a deli/corner store/bottle shop. The selection of bottled beer has expanded over the years. When I was there yesterday, I found three $9 bottles of Ballast Point, Victory at Sea. I bought all three bottles. You can also find a few other San Diego stouts, and a large variety of PNW beers. The food offerings here are pretty good, and the everyone is nice in the shop when you speak with them. Value is great.

I stop in this shop every time I am at Pike Place Market and always seem to come out with one or two bottles of craft beer.

It's great to be near a tourist trap, isn't it? Pear Delicatessen is located just to the north of the Pike Place Market, making it a little easier to avoid the bustle of people who clog the street. Clean and handsome inside, with an attractive deli, cheese station, and fridges full of beer. There's a mix-six display filled with (mostly) canned beers, the displays groomed with visible pricetags, and beers with a reasonable shelf life (notperfect, but don't expect any one year old pilsners). Brands including Firestone, Laurelwood, Pike, Fort George, Caldera, Left Hand, Freemont, Victory, Great Divide, Orlison, and Kulshan wait on the shelves to be taken home or consumed at the deli for a small corkage fee. I didn't notice any glassware, and this being Seattle, bags are not free, so bring a backpack for your haul after you check out.

From a tourist's perspective with no rental care, the location and beer selection may be one of the better combinations in the city.

This place has a great selection of PNW beers (and wines!). The food is good too, both grocery items and the fresh sandwiches. I would highly suggest checking out the dry soda wall, as there is a lot of great craft root beers and other sodas that you shouldn't miss out on. I managed to find a HOTD Blue Dot here, which I haven't seen anywhere else in Seattle except Chuck's. The guy who buys their beer (forget his name) is super helpful and knowledgeable. If you happen to be at Pike Place check it out because it's well worth it. They really emphasize small, local and sustainable with all of their items, which is nice to see.

I've warmed to this place a lot since my first visit.
They have a decent selection of bombers and sixers in a large refrigerated section separate from the BMC stuff. All the usual suspects you expect to find at a quality beer store. I don't know how they are at landing the special release beers though.
It is a quality place and it's convenient for those staying downtown and their beer buyer is very friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect for the tourist who wants to pick up something to take back to the hotel room or to sniff out something local.

Was very surprised to see such a great selection at a grocery store, albeit a higher-quality grocery store. Obviously whoever buys their beer knows what they're doing. Found several things I didn't see at Bottleworks: Mirror Mirror, Black Butte XXI, and Pliny the Elder. They had a lot more than that, however, but I had already done some shopping elsewhere. Prices seemed reasonable to me. Service was typical grocery store service; I just picked out my beer and paid, but I was fine with that.

Definitely worth checking out if you're in the market area.

Have stopped in a few times here since moving to the general area, and they obviously have a good beer buyer. Lots of great stuff ranging from national and local 6-packs to a wide selection of local, OR and CA bombers, as well as a decent selection of Brit, German and Belgian. Rotating specials and reasonable, although not always the lowest prices. Everything I have bought here has been fresh, and they have a nice assortment of food (mostly gourmet) as well. Lots of micro sodas too if you are into that.

Stopped in here on Monday 5/7 to grab lunch and to check out the beer selection. Bought a nice sandwich that comes with a side of pasta and a pickle. They have a pretty good selection of beers here in the back coolers. Plenty of local six packs, and a great selection of local bombers and Belgian beers. I managed to pick up a bomber of 2006 Alaskan Smoked Porter here for only $5.99. Only letdown was that all the beers are in the cooler, none are shelved, so that taking the beers to go is a bit of a hassle. This place is a nice find in the market area.

A nice find in downtown Seattle, especially considering DeLaurenti doesn't have the selection it used (at least according to my wife).

Good selection of craft and imported, plus your standard beer selection. Prices compared nicely with other places I've seen. I actually think their oak-aged Yeti was a bit less than Bottleworks.

Selection doesn't compare to Bottleworks, but for a downtown location, it sure carries a wide variety of brews. Nice and close to our hotel too, so if I wanted to make more than one trip, this was no problem. If I'm ever in Seattle again, this is a definite stop for me.

This is a very good option for those of us who live downtown. Not the massive selection of say, Bottleworks, but a serviceable one nonetheless. Its typical for me to go here if I'm pressed for time and can't make the jaunt over from Bottleworks. I also go just to support them. Service is friendly and more than an employee or two know a little about beer. The person who does the ordering obviously knows quite a bit, as the selection is pretty fine. First off, there are two coolers full of sixers dedicated to craft beer( Dogfish Head, Anderson Valley, Rogue, Hales, Bridgeport, Hair of the Dog and more) . One cooler full of macro and malternative 6'ers. Another cooler is full of craft bombers. I remember seeing a few varieties of Elysian, Rogue, Stone, Anderson Valley, Great Divide ...
There are a couple rows of imports from Germany, Australia (Coopers and Sheafstout), and the UK. Then there is a cooler dedicated to Belgians and Belgian style beers. Unibroue, Allagash, Duvel, Ommegang, Hennepin, Rodenbach, La Binchoise, Rochefort 10 & 8, Dupont, Scaldis, Orval, plus more that escape me. The Belgian selection here is the standout. Recently I bumped into someone who worked there who said they are planning on adding another cooler or two of Belgians. Sounds like a good idea to me!
