I had a pint at the Wonder Bar Saturday. $3

It poured a deep brown with reddish hues, had a small head of foam that was quick to shrink away.

It had a malty nose...slight nuttiness, sweet but not overly so. A minimum of any hop bitterness.

It tasted malty, lightly nutty, a very wee bit of any bitterness but it was enough to stop this Brown Ale from getting too sweet. I liked it.

Good mouthfeel, I found it an admirable beer. Nothing that stands out but it was an easy quaffer. A good effort from the local brewery. (529 characters)

a painfully average american brown ale. it pours a flat looking dark chocolate color, with a thin tan head that fades to nothing very quickly. the nose is some burnt malts and spend coffee grinds. flavor is also a little heavy on the spent coffee, acidic and rather out of place, but the malt profile is deep and nice. mouthfeel is the best feature, its smooth and full bodied, more of a porter in this regard. carbonation is a little under done, but the texture is pleasant. there is really nothing much else to say about this very pedestrian ale. i understand it in the context of the budlight drinkers that frequent this place, but in a craft brewing context it just doesnt measure up. (688 characters)
