On tap at the 4th street ale house in olympia, Dick's Danger Ale is a chill hazed chestnut brown with a creamy off-white head that leaves decent lace.

Smell is pretty hoppy, classic english noble hop herbals, very nice and fresh.

Taste is nice and clean, malty sweetness with a fresh minty, fuggels hop finish. Well done for sure, very tasty with excellent balance.

Mouthfeel is light, and on the dryer, crisper side.

Drinkability is high, this is very tasty and smooth. I love Dick's beer, all well made and great value, highly underrated in my opinion.

They ran out of Baranof's Slammer IPA on draft at Roller Derby, so I had to have this. Ok, well, here goes...

Into a plastic pint.

A: brown colored body with a slim white foamy head that simmers down to a quick filmy lacy looking spotted head

S: slightly grainy with a little nuttines and chocolate

T: mainly sweet with a decent warming lager-like sweetness, the aftertaste is sweet nutty and malty; the finish is slightly dry yet sweet and lingering

M: light to medium in body, but assisting in a mighty fine sessionability that could be had by anyone watching Roller Derby In Juneau

O: good English Brown Ale that I would have again if it showed up in Juneau

Licorice with beer overtones. I was trying something new & supporting a local, so had no expectations. I found it refreshing, but hard to put in even a general category. Taste was closer to a black shan:dy than brown ale. Head was more than a typ. good ale. Light smell & light feel. Real interesting, refreshing if hot & humid.

A - Kind of put off on the pour alone. Way too much carbonation that gives me 2+ inches of head filling my English pint glass to the rim. Waiting for it to settle never happens since it's constantly fed by tons of bubbles. Head and beer looks dark very porter pitch black like for an English brown. Head is an opaque colored almost mocha with tons of lacing (to be expected for the carbonation)
S - Smell has a lager like consistency some harsh grains, somewhat metallic. Very little nuts or chocolate that I expected for the style.
T - Very metallic even after warming it up a bit. Has a sort of lager yeast skunky ness and very little sweet malts. Kind of drinks like a poorly made black lager.
M -Light to medium in body. Metallic and somewhat bitter.

Overall I was intrigued going into this since the style wasn't listed on the bottle. Pours like a porter, drinks like a black ale, and has the metallic twang of a poorly made macro lager. Not sure what it's trying to be but it's definitely not a brown ale... Pretty much bought it for the name and now I can say it sucks dick.

Glass: Nonic pint glass

Appearance: Brown with ruby highlights. Light brown creamy head that retains about two fingers worth.

Smell: Yeast, cloves, and ginger.

Taste: Cloves, malts, and a lager taste at the finish.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, smooth texture that seems to roll on and off the tongue. Very strong carbonation.
