This is not what I think of as a Blonde Ale, and I mean that in a nice way. There is some funk in the aroma, and I wondered if this some pale Belgian style. But Dick's claims it's a "traditional British golden ale," which is meant to be a refreshing summer beer.
Hop aromas are the main interest and the flavor is fruity with pineapple. This is quite sparkly on the tongue and while the body is light it is also malty. Some cereal taste and I think of a watery and tangy Tripel.
Since we don't have a category for the English original, I would call it better than most of the American blonde or golden brews. The bottled version in Dick's mixed 12-pack is 5.2%.

Got this in a sampler pack which I thought was kind of cool, 12 beers- guaranteed 8 different kinds out of the 14 listed on the box. (comes in a sealed box so you don't know what you will get) Once poured it is a thick gold color, with one finger white head. Smells kind of fruity, am hoping there is more to the taste though as not much on the smell. Interesting mix on the taste, not what I was expecting from the smell. Pretty good taste I think, a lot of different mild flavors. Feels pretty thick, not watery at all. Drinking this on the higher end of the temperature range as I did not have a chance to refrigerate since getting back from the store. Got a pretty good aftertaste to it, very smooth going down. Over all a pretty decent beer.

Poured into 12oz glass. Poured a clean, clear golden straw color with just a thin cap of white head that had no retention or lacing.
The aroma was a very pleasantly grain scent, like a fresh mown hay field in summer. There was just an easy tickle of hops around the edges. On the tongue, the profile stayed the course, mostly nice earthy grains with just a tingle of hops.
The body was crisp, clean and refreshing. Drinkability was very good, clearly a couple of these during and after yard work would be an excellent idea. Overall, a pretty much spot-on take of an under appreciated style. Grab a sixer for your next cook-out with friends.

12 oz. bottle from a mix 12 pack. Poured into a regular pint glass.
A: Nice crisp looking filtered golden color. A small amount of head that died quickly & decent bubbles.
S: A bit of a skunky aroma with a touch of honey notes. Overall a low aroma that isn't all that inviting.
T: A simple tasting beer. Not hoppy or malty really. Clean and akin to a adjunct lager in flavor.
M: Nothing that lingers on. A long way from offensive, but probably something that won't stay in the memory bank either.
O: Probably one of the most simple micros I've ever had from my area of the country.

Got a bottle of this in a Dick's Variety pack
A- golden is right! nice gold color. Hazy. Real night fluffy head. Foamed up so much that I thought that it might be infected at first.
S- spice, clove, applesauce. Smells sort of like a Bavarian hef. Not what I expected but good.
T- bready. sweet, apple pie up front. Dry and grainy in the finish. Belgian-esque. Humble but tasty for what it is.
M- rather carbonated. Light-bodied.
D- this would make a great session beer. Reminds me of a Belgian single, without tasting explicitly 'Belgian". Not bad at all.

This simple table beer shows restrained ambition but is otherwise companionable with a light touch of caramel sweetness and little more. Pale sunny yellow with sluggish CO2 and indifferent suds, it is a determinedly nondescript beer, though also non-problematic, eliciting neither excitement nor complaint.
