22oz bottle poured into a large mug
Pours dark brown with a huge persistent head. Huge. Persistent. Smell is spicy, musty, toffee, malts, a little bit of hops.
Taste too sweet, a little syrupy, some hops, extremely malty.
Mouthfeel is light and smooth. Overall, the sweetness ruins it for me.

22 oz bottle courtesy of Libby pours a dark chestnut color with some lighter brown highlights around the edges. Head is a little small and leaves minimal lacing.
Nose is full of dark fruits, toffee malts and something sweet...maybe brown sugar?
Taste is a nice blend of plum fruitiness and cereal-dark maltiness...I cant quite place the malty flavor, but maybe a combo of Whoppers candy and Tootsie Roll. The best part of the beer is the mouthfeel though, low carbonation and full body give it a silky smooth mouthfeel. Very nice. The yeast plays a big time role here and there is a fair amount of bubblegummy hoppiness in the flavor. The closest thing I can think of to this would be Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball with a year on it. ABV is well hidden, woulda never guessed 8.6. Tasty brew here, I would enjoy having this locally.

Poured into an imperial nonic a deep dark roasted chesnut brown with thick one finger tan colored head atop that lasted for quite awhile.Dark fruit and brown sugar notes in the nose, malt driven to be expected but nearly no hop presence.Starts out sweet with that brown sugar element playing a big role, some juicy fruit tones mixed with a nice drying lightly earthy finish.Well rounded on the palate with just enough hops to make it very drinkable for the style. Not great but very good.

A: Poured a cola color with reddish hues, small dirty white cap.
S: Nose is cola, chocolate and some fruity hops
T: Taste is pretty malty, some dried fruits, hints of chocolate, very much a cola note, some grapes
M: Pretty balanced, more malt forward and thats not bad these days in hoppy world. Had akeg of this and enjoyed it as much as I did the bottle.
O: Recommended!

Dark brown with slim red highlights and foamy tan head. Chocolate, floral and light roasted aroma. Roasted malts tempered by chocolate sweetness and finishing with floral hops. Light alcohol taste and good warming sensation. Slick feel with a light mouthcoating.
Very easy drinking ale with a nice dichotomy of sweet up front with a bitter finish. A clear separation in taste. Roasted malts don’t take over but the flavor muddies a bit when not paired with food. Simple yet mostly satisfying.

Poured into 10oz glass. An accidentally aggressive pour gave me almost 2 inches of of medium tan head that very good retention and light lacing. The beer seemed to be on the lively side, as additional pours still gave lots of foam.
The aroma was mostly full malts, with some spiciness and a touch of alcohol in the background. The flavors started out the same but then showed a nice hop tang that didn't show in the nose.
The body was good and full, but a touch thinner than I like in this style. Drinkability was very good, this brew goes down very easily. I didn't get bored through the whole 22. Overall, a very nice brew. A solid big brother to the regular Danger ale. Worth seeking out.

An unabashedly malty ale brewed as an imperial version of Dick's flagship Danger Ale. Double Danger is shadowed mahogany with a thick, tangy body. It could easily pass for a winter warmer. It smells of molasses and plum wine with a corresponding taste of molasses flambé that finishes with a touch of smoke. An integrated bite of alcohol lends a soothing warmth.
Nice if you're in the mood for it. So seek the mood.
