We had to get a quick stop in at Julio's before heading to CT to visit Willimantic Brewing on our trip to New England for Kate The Great Day. I am very pleased we did since I am having a small tasting and want to share some unique beer. I was glad to pick up some Bourbon county stout to share with tenderbranson69 and Alesmith and Pretty Things for abru17. The selection is unreal - very good with almost every style I could think of represented save for a handfull. The quality is great too since the store is laid out with wine to the left hot sauces and food items, cigars and liquor in the center and Macro beer in the back. Craft beer is to the far right with the coolers on the wall. near the registers/exit.
The beer is separated by region so it is easy to find what you are there for quickly with Belgian/British/German and other european beer grouped together and American craft separated by brands. Not only are there East and West coast craft beers represented but they also have midwest brews like Dark Horse and Founders represented. They have a good amount of cooler space with a lot of craft stocked in there like Raspberry Barleywine from Berkshire and Farmhouse from Haverhill along with Stoudt's, Victory, Stone and others. They have the Nordic Brewers, Asian, French and Italian grouped together and the mead is on a separate shelf nearby.
The service would probably be 4.5 since I was greeted several times and asked if I needed anything, my friends were even handed some bottles not out on the shelves yet. The only issue I had which I partly blame myself since I left without reviewing my order was I was charged for two sixpacks of Red Racer IPA instead of 2 cans. Overall I can't complain though with the 15% discount on 6 or more items I pretty much came out ahead still and would have brought it to their attention if I had noticed sooner. I recommend Julio's highly to anyone in the area and if you want a great deal - some of the choices were more than 2 dollars less than PA prices - the prices are very reasonable bordering on inexpensive.
I will definitely swing by if I get back to the area anytime in the future.
