Let this bottle warm a bit out of the fridge. Poured with an off-white to cream colored, frothy, foamy, slightly thick and slow to settle head and good lacing. Color is a clear, orange copper amber with some bubble trails. Aroma is mainly malt, a little caramel, toffee, yeast, and hop. Flavor is similar with a little dry biscuit and bitterness at the end. Body is full and good with proper carbonation. Finish is like flavor and on the short side. Not a bad beer; nothing remarkable. Could easily drink more.

500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 3.7%. Amber to brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Nice aroma of toffee and floral hops, just a hint of citrus. The flavour is well hopped for its strength, with herbal and citrussy notes, on a background of toffee and malts. Highly drinkable, a pleasant English session ale - among so many others, yes, but well worth a session of its own.

A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of July 2014. Purchased a while back from a supermarket. Well, it's amber....

Poured into a tulip pint glass. Surprisingly fizzy. A deep coppery-amber colour with good carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before collapsing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with hints of fruity ale yeast, grass/hay and stewed hops. Faintly sweet and rather dull.

Tastes of mild caramel malt with a dry finish. Notes of caramel malt, faint biscuits, fruity ale yeast, grass/hay and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a dry, leafy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with prickly carbonation and an insubstantial body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter stewed leaves, fruity yeast and a hint of malt.

Meh - a pretty run-of-the-mill bitter. I doubt if the clear bottle helps. Looks alright, but the aroma and flavour are an unexciting mix of caramel malt and yeast esters. Watery body. Drinkable but nowt special - no need to hunt it down.

Amber it says and amber it does in the way of a clear body and thick and impressive white head.

The aroma is strong and inviting Butter fudge, malts and hops lipsmackingly good

If only the taste was as good.
Nearly however rolling malts with a rich bread body filling too hops and peppery yeasty goodnes and a bitter finish.

Nice mouthfeel, great low key carbonation
real good session bitter.

Pours a dark, clear coppery amber with a respectable pale beige head. Aroma is mainly fruity with malty and honey notes and a hint of hops. Fruity flavor has a malty undertone and hints of honey and caramel. Texture is a bit on the thin side and has minimal fizz. Overall, acceptable if not outstanding.

A - Deep gold, nearing a vibrant copper. I think of this as more of a classic "pale" ale than as an "amber" ale. Poured freely into a Guinness pint glass it forms a sticky thick white top. Very attractive to look at. Great clarity. A little darker and more viscosity and this would be the perfect image of beer.

A - Lots of bread dough. The consummate English pint; the yeasty esters are full at work. Some nice fruit plays against the warmth of the breadiness. No hops, sadly. I'd like to imagine, fresh from the source, this stuff has some stunning hop character. This bottle arrives to me with none of that.

T - More of that breadiness and fruit. It's all about the chewy, doughy character. Nothing significant develops beyond that. For such a low ABV, I am impressed by the sweetness and raw malt character the flavor provides. Except it doesn't break new ground. As far as English Pale Ale goes, this is very generic.

M - While highly drinkable, it remains substantial enough to be satisfying. I'll be seeking this one out again precisely because it makes me forget that I need to be drinking smaller beers.

O - This not a Double Stout, an India Pale Ale, a Quad or Barleywine. Nor do I want it to be. But it's not a Lite Beer, and that's something I'm very certain about avoiding. I am thankful that so much has been crammed into this package.

My real complaint is that I feel there could be more personality. The hops need to exercise more purpose in the nose and on the palate, and some more savory toasted and crystal malts would be appreciated. I love the yeast, though!

Picked up a bottle for $3 at Abe's Cold Beer. Poured clear amber with a tall white head that settled. The overall character reminds me a lot of the Lancaster blond. The ale is dominated by a spicy bread crust flavor that's pleasant but a touch simple with just a hint of fruit. I mean it's not the richest style, and there's a balanced herbal bitter finish. I'd be happy to have a pint or two of this.

Clear amber with a finger of sand colored foam that leaves spotty lace on the glass. Caramel, toffee and fresh doughy bread in the aroma. Malty and rich with a mild floral hop bite and a nice minerality in the water. Medium light bodied with seltzery carbonation. Pretty good session ale.

Clear, golden amber color, thin off-white head leaves a nice haze across the surface. Muted aroma of caramel/toffee, hints of bready malt. No hop character. Flavor of more bready malt and some watered down floral hops. Sweet aftertaste of caramel. Light bodied, extremely thin, watery mouthfeel. Maybe this lost flavor on its trip across the Atlantic, but it is just too watery to be drinkable as beer.

Served at cellar temperature in a nonic.

A: Pours a clear golden amber with a substantial two-finger head that persists. Great lacing.

S: Biscuity English malt and English ale yeast.

T: Follows the nose pretty closely. Not much development from the front to the finish: mainly biscuity malt and English ale yeast flavors (or flavours, if you prefer). The aftertaste is bitter, with a slight twinge of metal.

M: Slightly watery, even for an English bitter. This, however, does make the beer a suitable lawnmower brew.

D: At 3.7% ABV, this is a perfectly-sessionable beer. I'd like a bit more body, but I have no real complaints.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a standard pint.

A: Medium amber hue. Pours about a 2 finger, foamy, white head. Settles fairly slowly. Leaves substantial, sticky residue as it does. Plenty more lacing as you drink it down.

S: Rich, roasted, syrupy malt. Nutty, and just a little sweet.

T: Light malt, very nutty. A little woody. A bit of a (maybe butterscotch) sweetness.

M: Medium body. A bit of a harsh peaty palette.

D: Indifferent....

Atmosphere is okay. Decent appearance and nose, nothing to write home about though. Nose does have a decent balance of grain and nuttiness. Flavor and body is light. A little malt, a little nutty, woody tone. Overall, this is a decent quaff.
