I was searching for a fresh six pack of Dogfish head 60 minute IPA, and found it here after being disappointed at the other mega liquor stores that only had this ale that was over a year old. Beyond that, there really is very little difference with the offerings.

Employees were readily available if I needed assistance, but no one asked me if I needed help.

If you have visited the Louisville area Liquor Barns, there is nothing additional or special here, though the beers at Party Mart may be fresher given the difference in freshness with the 60 minute IPA.

If you are in this part of eastern Louisville, it is worth exploring. The prices are comparable to the Liquor Barns'.

Party Marty is a large liquor store in the suburban east end of Louisville. The store is right off the expressway (Brownsboro Rd. exit). Their focus is on hard liquor and wine. They have party supplies and some party foods.

The beer selection is adequate. Beer is on the back wall and in the large walk in cooler. You may not take singles from the packs and there are very few bombers. There are a few (very few) singles on a dusty self to the right of the beer area. I could find no beer gift packs. There was a good selection of plain glassware but no branded beer glasses.

They do carry a decent selection of American craft beer: Bell's, Avery, Bluegrass Brewing (local), Ommegang, Rogue, Stone, DFH, Schlalfly, Great Lakes, Goose Island, etc. The imports focus mainly on British and Belgian beers. Two that caught my eye that I have not seen at the other large stores in town are Val-Dieu and Duinen.

They had bombers of Avery 10 and 11 (good and bad--indicates slow turnover/old stock.. but you can find something relatively rare?) they also carried Thomas Hardy 2004, Unibroue 2004 & 2005. They stock Stone and had the 9th Anniversary but did not have the Oaked or Double Bastard (still widely available in town).

Service was non-existent. I walked around for a good while searching and observing; staff walked by me several times but never spoke or acknowledged me.

Recently in Louisville, and I was really very surpirsed at the selection in this place! Lots of west cost and Colorado beer, as well as plenty of Bell's and Ommegang. However, a slimmer selection of imports: just the normal widely-available Germans and very few Belgians. Still, since this place majors in booze and wine along with a wide selection of party accoutrements, I was pleasantly surprised at the selection. They even had some 2003 Avery Ten, which I got.

Service was basically non-existent, but what did I expect?

If you're looking for American craft beer on the east end of Louisville, this is the place, I guess.

Located in a strip-mall, this place is larger than it looks from the outside. On entering the store, I was immediately impressed by how clean and well organized the store was. Craft beer is located along the back wall, and, behind that, a very large walk-in cooler with pretty much everything stocked cold. Selection was similar to that offered by the area Liquor Barns, so much so that I asked the cashier if they were affiliated - they are not. Selections included Bluegrass, Dogfish Head, Rogue, Bells/Kalamzoo, Great Lakes, Great Divide and a number of other craft brews. Also stocked a good representation of English and Belgian imports.
