Nice name. Wanda is the co-owner of Peaks. She's also the bartender and the brewer's wife. And of course, if you stick your head out the front door of Peaks' Brewpub, you can see the Straight of Juan de Fuca.

Beyond that, there's little to praise in this dull topaz beer. It is woefully undercarbonated and chocked with wayward esters. A vague essence of honey pokes through in the aroma and taste. But the beer is casual to the point of indifference and tangy in a yeasted manner that's not conducive to repetition.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy medium to dark coppery amber with a thin off-white head that dissipates to a thin film and slim ring around the glass. Aroma of bready malt and cooked fruit and vegetables. Flavor is muted malt, apple and pear juice with a slightly sour astringent finish. Light bodied. Not as malty as most of Twin Peaks other brews and is not as flavorful as a result. The fruit/cooked vegetable element is more forward than the malt. I like malty beers and generally have really enjoyed the offerings from this brewery, but this one is a miss.
