Looks nice enough, with a medium amber brew and modest head in the Stella goblet. Iced tea aroma. Flavors of boiled potato and green beans.

Just a touch of malt and a slight sweetness. A whiff of plastic. Scorched oatmeal, but light. Eventually the bitter aftertaste takes over. It's not terribly bitter, but it doesn't add anything to the dishwatery spoiled fruit flavors.

This does have some British flavors, though it may not matter if this is a mediocre English IPA or a lousy American IPA. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at 99 Bottles in Federal Way, Wash.

22oz into a tulip. Pours a hazy copper w/ a 1-finger head, leaving behind some lacing.

Aroma is mostly muted floral and citrusy NW hops. Not much going on here.

Taste is dry biscuity malt and floral hops. A pretty standard NW take on the IPA here. Nice bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is balanced and medium-bodied, crisp.

Overall an OK beer but it doesn't stand out from the crowd.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy dark copper amber with a fine one finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of biscuit and sweet malt with hints of toasted malt, light grassy hops; aroma closer to an amber ale than a IPA. Flavor is brighter than the aroma, with light grassy hops supported by mild biscuit and toasty malt, citrus leaning towards orange. Crisp malt finish with grassy, citrus hops. Nicely balanced. Medium bodied. Rather tame by Northwest IPA standards, but refreshing and inviting; malt and hops meld well. The flavor profile is more similar to a pale ale or British bitter, but the color and aroma are maltier. Interesting. My bottle says "Train Wrecked IPA", but the ABV seems in line with this listing. This brewery seems to be fairly fluid in their beer names, so I suspect this is the same beer.

The placard for Train Wreck states that it is dry-hopped with Galena, Cascade, and "hops from the neighbor's yard." These mystery hops contribute to an appealing floral aroma with an air of orange blossom that's also a touch musty or earthy. The beer is unfiltered orange-yellow and comes with a thick, rocky crown. But its taste is tart with a slight metallic encroachment and the mouthfeel is grassy and borderline astringent. A workable ale, but far from smooth.
