This is an alright place to pickup beer and the selection seems to change a lot. It is just one of the few places I get to checkout if I am in the Chesterfield area shopping. This place and Whole Foods are always easy sells when my wife is already beered out. Trader Joes always has good deals on exotic and gourmet groceries so it is easy to convince her to go there. This location is not as nice as the one in Brentwood and I don't if it is smaller but it feels that way. The one in Brentwood also will let you take bottles from existing six packs and break them down, where this TJ's only lets you pick from a very small mixer six area. They both carry a lot of beers I don't see around here often. It is a clean store. I am not over keen on the service sort of unfriendly guy at the counter and I as was looking at the beer this one employee came by and told me that I would have to wait until 10 or 11 I can't remember which one but it was only five minutes away. He also stared at me for a second like why is this guy in the beer isle in the morning. It was just uncomfortable. Like I said before it is an alright place to pick up beer but not the first choice. I would rather go to the one in Brentwood it has bigger beer isle too. There is also another TJ's in Des Peres and Crev Coeur but I have not been to them. I have only driven by them.

Trader Joe's best aspect is their low prices. Many six packs are less than $7. They also have an okay selection in their "build your own six-pack" section. A large percentage of their beers are contract brewed by good breweries, like Goose Island (Stockyard Oatmeal Stout and Trinity Red Ale). You'll usually find some decent Belgians and some good German brews. They Trader Joe's (brewed by Unibroue) line of beers are always an appealing option. First and foremost, this is a grocery store. However, it will work in a pinch and is very affordable.

Well, it certainly is a upscale type grocery store, and with the chain you should be able to find it locally. My first time in one, quite an experience. Felt a little funny running a sixer of Gila Monster amber ale through the checkout as everyone else had groceries.
The long, 20 foot shelf of warm beer does have a decent selection but a good portion goes to their trade brand beer and one with the generic label beer did not bode well. Not having any refrigerated beer is disconcerting.
If your hurting for craft beer and see a TJs, it will get you by but I wouldnt make this a normal stop as smaller craft sellers need your business more.
