Yellow greenish, with a lot of carbonation. Quite hazy. Beautiful white foam, weizen-style.
The smell is quite fruity, with banana, and a generous amount of cloves, that mitigates the sweetness.
In spite of the apparent carbonation, in the mouth it is not excessive. Less sweet than you can expect, and quite balanced. Wheat.
In the spicy aftertaste, with cloves, fruity again.

Pours an unfiltered pale yellow color with a huge fluffy head. Smell is right on cue to style with hints of banana and clove. Mouthfeel again is typical of the style with perfect carbonation and body. The taste however is a big letdown. It just does not posess enough body and character and is overly watered down. There are very small hints of the wheat flavor followed by the banana and clove just not enough. It just tastes like a lot is missing. Drinkability would be great on a hot summer day but it is just an average representation of a true hefe.

Cloudy nectarine skin with a rocky white head. The aroma is dominated by hints of wet cardboard and mop water, yet the typical banana/clove/fruit and funky yeast scents are still there. Big, sour citrus fruits with notes of banana and clove, bready malts along with a musty and earthy yeast character.

16.9ozs. bought at Bev-Mo in Irvine. Poured into my frozen Franziskaner weissglas. Nose is all bananna. Big frothy head fills the top 1+ inch of the glass. Hefe is small brownish particles that break up as the bubbles rise to the head. It pours a very light yellow-orange, like Franziskaner.
If you like a bananna taste in your weizen, this one has it BIG TIME! I don't pick up much clove at all. The only other flavor I get is vanilla. I would call this a 'lighter' Hefe for just these reasons. This beer feels just a bit thin in the mouth as compared to Paulaner and HP. Very similar mouthfeel to regular Franziskaner.
Hopf is a very underrated weizen. I could drink several more.

I must start this review by stating that I bought this beer on a whim (and with some hesitance) because it was on “sale” for 99 cents for a 16.9 fl oz. bottle. This indicates to me that it is probably old, lightstruck or some other negative.

It poured a murky, light amber with a bright white head approximately one inch in depth. This is obviously an unfiltered wheat, as the body is filled with particulate. A heavily carbonated beer, bubbles continue to race to the top fifteen to twenty minutes after originally being poured. The scent is of musky clove and cinnamon. The taste is very light for the style, reminiscent more of a Kristall Weisse instead of a Hefe. Banana and clove notes are present, as typical for this style, but I also detect some light apple and fresh citrus. This is a very refreshing, sessionable brew, but not that complex. This could be due to age, but all-in-all, this is not a bad beer and my ratings reflect such.

I had the pleasure of sampling this brew at stuffed sandwich. Quite a tasty brew with a big head and lots of brussel lace. Unfortunately i had to drink it out of a paper cup, i thought i went to my last frat party. Reminded me a bit of the weihenstephaner, which is a solid hefe. I'd consider purchasing this beer again, it seems to be available at most fine wine stores.

Paid about 1.50 euro. Not a bad brew for the cost and size of the bottle. Good, standard wheat beer. Hops are well blended and low key. Taste is weisse, heavy on the grainy texture. Not too thick. Hazy light orange brown with good foam and no lace. Nice brew.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with big 3 inch head that disapted to tiny head, but has lasted throughout the whole glass. Good lacing. Smells yeasty like a good doughy piece of warm bread, slight banana scents, with citrus. Tastes about the same. Good banana, lemon flavor, and spicey corriander after finish. If you can, smell and taste at the same time, great flavors mix together with smell. Creamy mouthfeel. I could drink a few of these for the afternoon. If you like hefe's it's a good one to try.

Pours a beautiful hazy, amber-yellow shade with a huge, frothy white head. Aroma begins with bready malt componenent followed by a big fruity banana yeasty aroma and a slight corriander kick. The flavor is very well balanced, begins with a a malty wheat bread taste followed by a nice banana flavor and a spicy finish of corriander, clove and pepper. Mouthfeel is smooth and drinkability is good.

It presents itself exactly as it should. A glowing, smogged goldenrod topped with a breathing and expanding plastic mound of creamed French Vanilla.
Fragrant of bananas drizzled with a lemon glaze, sprinkled with clove and eaten with a flaky wheat biscuit.
Begins as it smells. Forward with banana and lemon elements, tart leaning at times, and especially as it warms. The tartness is offset with a template of doughy wheat and coarser hull. The middle is well spiced, with esters of vanilla pod, ginger, and white pepper. It ends with a congruent lemony hop snap that migrates more herbal as the brew migrates past the tonsils.
Medium hewn with light but boisterous bubbles.
This has a bit more lemon and acid than most, though it never seems out of place, placed upon a very supple and traditional weizen frame.
I'd place this one in my upper tier per the style.

500ml Bottle
Pours a hazy golden color with a rocky, thick, off white head. Retention is great as is lacing.
Smell is almost pure wheat. Some banana and clove, but not nearly as much as I would have expected. Very slight spicy hop aroma as well.
Taste is slight wheat twang, followed by banana, and clove. Definte hop bitterness/spiciness to this one as well.
Mouthfeel is dead on for the style.
Overall, extremely drinkable, and enjoyable. A little more tart than I might like, but still a damn good wheat beer.

aroma is light banana, some wheat, and a little clove.
Flavor is citric, with a nice spicyness on the finish.
Average hefe.

Pours a hazy blond color with moderate carbonation and has a three inch froth.

Has a toasted straw malt aroma with grass, resin, grapefruit, and slightly lemon hops smell.

Lightly sweet, moderately acidic, and lightly bitter taste that has a short duration however the fruit lingers. The taste resembles the smell with a little ginger in the malt and spruce dominated by lemon in the hops.

Mouthfeel has a light body, dry texture, soft carbonation, with a lightly astringent and slightly chalky finish.

Drinkability is great, definitely a session beer, in fact I'll have another.

The beer absents itself from the 500ml brown bottle a somewhat chill hazed golden amber with a monumental creamy light tan head that after its decomposition results in the lace forming a fine silk like curtain around the glass. Nose has a fair hint of wheat, somewhat sweet, clean and fresh, hints of banana and cloves; start is sweet with a fair grain profile and the top light in its feel. Finish is stern in its acidity with the hops light but present, a nice drinking beer that as with the Dunkle will go down nicely when the temperature hits 115 here soon.

Appearance: Poured into a tall, slender Arrogant Bastard glass, this beer presents itself with a big foamy head. I'm not kidding, over half the glass was foamy for a few minutes. The head is creamy, white, sticky, fluffy and long lasting made up of very small bubbles. Exceptionally stiff head could be scooped like ice cream. It leaves very nice, lacy striations on the glass. The beer is a cloudy orange with a light red tint when back lit. Very pretty.

Smell: Sweet malty aroma with a bit of a phenolic note to it. Apple, light alcohol, and chewiness that is a compliment to the malt.

Taste: Sweet with a tight malt flavor. Some biscuity notes with a fruity and spicy undertones. The spiciness is cinnamon and lavender while the fruits suggest banana, orange, and a general citrusy flavor. This beer is slightly syrupy with a tart middle. The flavor weakens at the end and dies off. Watery and slightly disappointing.

Mouthfeel: Very light and fluffy but the tartness tends to bite and make it uncomfortable in my mouth. The watery ending leaves something to be desired.

Drinkability: It is certainly a drinkable beer and is probably better consumed when paired with equally lively foods. Good but not great by any stretch.

I didn't get to actually drink much of my bottle of this due to a glassware mishap detailed here:

Pours a cloudy golden with orange highlights and a smallish head for a weissbier. Yeasty, hoppy aroma with some banana notes is unmistakably a hefeweizen. Nice, sweet palate lacks a nice hop presence, but there is a good lemony, citrusy zing mixed with the German yeast. Mouthfeel is slightly foamy. This is pretty good, I wish I'd had more than about four ounces left in the bottle after my spill.

A definent change of pace for me drinking a hefe weisse in February but wanted something a little different, pours a hazy light goleden with a big fluffy head that turns creamy-like as it settles.Soft clovey aroma most prominent with a little wheaty malt in there not much citrus maybe a light lemon note.Taste is pretty delicate compared to say Schneider weisse a little cloves and some citrus but soft.A good hefe but there are better German and American weisses out there this may be better with yes the dreaded lemon.

Appearance: Active carbonation, pure white head, yellow body.
Aroma: Sour lambic aroma.
Tasting: Sour, refreshing, light, wheaty lemony, cloves. Practically no sweetness.
Mouthfeel: Super light, far too much zest, crisp.
Drink: This is picnic beer. Might choose it over bud, but not sure.

16.9 oz heavy duty brown glass bottle.

The beer pours a hazy dark yellow. Nice head (in fact be careful on the pour or you will get a glass of foam…). Just a bit of lacing.

This beer has a nose of clove banana and spice. The classic nose of a German Hefe. Yummy.

The taste is much like the nose. Lots of smooth grain taste with the clove and pepper adding a nice accent. No flaws or shortcomings very solid taste. Some subtle shadings of fruit emerge to add to the enjoyment

The mouthfeel is very creamy which is not a usual hefe characteristic. I like it!

Extreemly easy to drink. Would be a perfect session beer. Nice example of style and easy to pair with grilled food and salads.

Pours out foggy light straw and sits a hazy light gold in the glass with a large frothy white head. Good thick head maintained all the way down to the bottom of the glass with nice thick lacings up and down.

Smells rich and wheaty. Oranges and lemon zest pour out on all sides. Hints of honey and mild leafy aromas hide underneath.

Tastes mildly sweet up front with increasing sourness that peaks and levels off at a level of a fresh granny smith. Plenty of light fruity flavors including oranges, lemon and apples. Nice hop bitterness provides a crisp dose of grassy flavors and a slight hint of pepper. Finishes with plently of bitterness and many lingering fruit flavors.

Crisp and clean in the mouth with good carbonation. Very refreshing on all levels. An easy drinker all the way. I really enjoyed this beer and wouldn't mind having a few more lying around. An anytime beer all the way.

I must confess, I am not a big fan of Heffe's or German beers for that matter, but the price was right and it is still hot here in Temecula CA, so I decided to give it a try. Clean crisp and somewhat flat. I was not impressed initially. Very bland as compared to what I usually drink; however, if I had one beer to drink for the rest of my life it would be Stone Ruination IPA. With that said, this was pretty cool, good Hefe appearance with ample yeast in the glass, but it was dissapointingly void of true taste, but at a little better than 5.0% abv, that was not too surprising. Overall, I would say great for a hot summer day, but don't expect the world.

Presentation: 1 Pint, 0.9 fl.oz brown glass bottle. Compared to the two other bottles I picked up (the Dunkle Weiße and Weißer Bock), the Helle Weiße has a generic appearance. The Helle Weiße has a cream colored label with a dark green border with a color coordinated crown cap. The neck label has the words ‘Helle Weiße Wheat Beer’. The Main label has the word ‘Hopf’ in large black font with the words ‘Helle Weiße’ underneath in green text. No strength or freshness date listed, but I know this was fresh to the Store.

Appearance: Milky hazed light golden-yellow body with a large virginal white expansive head that fills the glass at first which means that a slow pour is in order at first. Excellent conditioning.

Nose: Has a classic wheat beer nose. Lots of sweet mushy bananas, cloves and wheat with a light overall fruity odor.

Taste: No surprises here, but this is a solid example nevertheless. Mushed sweet bananas, cloves, slightly toasted wheat and fruity yeasts. Often there is twitch of sharpness at the beginning, but it is soon subsumed by the sweet banana. Finishes clean and with a refreshing and satisfying swallow. Fruity ending.

Mouthfeel: A complaint of mine is often that Wheat beers are sickly or tacky on the mouth. This is a clean, crisp offering which benefits from the chill but is nevertheless a damn good fresh Wheat beer that has a smooth feel with aerodynamic lines.

Drinkability: I had to work for a few hours today, the AC in our Office is turned down on weekends and the afternoon was hot, so this made for a very refreshing drink as the sun was going down when I got home. Very refreshing.

Overall: Cost $2.59 for the bottle. I always expect German beers to be steadfast and conservative, solid but never surprising. I suppose this is, it has all the classic Wheat Beer qualities that you would expect, and it doesn’t deviate from the norm, yet somehow it does that little bit more for me. A very good Weiße and one that I would purchase again, in fact I spied a 3L Magnum of the Hopf Helle Weiße in the Store as well, now this would make for a great Party Bottle that many would enjoy I think - now there’s an idea…..

Pours a creamy, hazy light golden with plenty of head and stick, though the head dissipates rather quickly. Aromas scream fruit esters redolent of under ripe banana. Some barnyard on the nose as well as a blast of sweet toasty malt and a pinch of clove. The beer is clean and crisp yet the ripeness of the beers flavor makes it a bit flabby on the palate. Flavors again favor sweet banana (tastes like banana nut bread) and toasty malt. Unique in style, this is worth checking out.

Here's another classic German weissbier that follows all of the standards but somehow manages to stand out a bit from the crowd. It's appearance is exactly as might be expected with a billowing, bright-white head above a translucent golden body that teems with effervescent life. It's medium-light bodied, and zesty across the palate. The nose welcomes you with subtle wafts of citrus over sweetish malt. A touch of banana is added into the flavor, but it's a bit more restrained than some; and it's clove-like character is even more tightly reigned in. Fresh, bright, and easy drinking, this is a weizen that's very well suited for quaffing during long summer days. Very well done!

Pours an unfiltered cloudy golden brew.

Smell is grain and mild spice scent from the yeast.

Taste is sweet with a little tartness and a banana and spice flavor.
Good grain backbone and a nice balanced hop finish. A bit sweet but not super sweet.

Good Mouthfeel, the wheat gives it a certain thickness.

Very drinkable brew.
