On tap at Sydney's Local Taphouse Canadian SpecTapular.

Nice orange/amber colour, with a filmy but solid enough white head that leaves some English ale style lacing. Lots of carbonation. Not bad.

Lots of butterscotch on the nose, with a weird cinnamon character coming through - some washed out hop notes that give a vaguely English twist to the aroma. Quite English in style overall. Eh.

Taste is also quite English - with notable sweet malts only partially alleviated by the straight vector of cleansing hops. Finish is clean at least, but it's certainly missing some intensity. Mouthfeel clear and smooth.

Eh, it's drinkable enough. I certainly feel it leans towards the English style than the American style -- and it's just not that interesting.

On tap at Devil's Den.

Orange with a dense white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is green, fruity and floral hops with some honey and caramel. Citrus and tropical fruit character are present, this is nice stuff. Opening bitter with fresh, green hops, there's bitter grapefruit, citrus peel and some caramel. Drying on the finish with mild resin and green hop character, this is solid stuff. Carbonation is moderate, this is a little bigger in body than I like. Still, decent.

Beer served on draft at a local beer bar. This beer is orangish and has a slight haze to it. Forms an off white head that leaves a lot of lacing behind, carbonation moderate.

The aroma is a combination of malt and hops. The hop aroma is a little like pine. Overall its a pretty weak aroma.

Beer is bitter and sweet. This is probably better classified as an English IPA. The malt is really forward in the profile. Beer has an aftertaste and drinks with a medium body. There is nice palate connectivity, the hops coat the mouth and the bitterness and the aftertaste grow as you drink this beer. Overall, its pretty good, drinkability if fine mouthfeel is good.

Had at Mondial de la Biere 2007.

Pours a clear orange/amber, huge off white head, massive lace, good retention, looks pretty nice! Smell is sweet, caramel, decent malts, citrus and floral hop tea, light pine, not bad. Taste is sweet, piney caramel, bread, citrus and floral, hoppy clean bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Not too bad, close to average but in the right direction.

Mondiale 2007. A good head and high bitterness, with a melange of hops Chinook, Kent, Goulding. The hop profile gave it some distinction, as well as significant yeast. Medium mouthfeel. most of all I need balance and I think that takes more skill, maybe I will try it again.
