Appearance: Vibrant, moderately cloudy orange. Slightly darker than orange juice. Two-finger, very aromatic head that rapidly fades with very slight lacing.
Smell: I got a bit overenthusiastic here on the fourth sniff and accidentally snorted it. Most prominent is strong, tart crab-apple. Slight orange and just a hint of grape. Wild yeast and phenol.
Taste: Moderate orange and lemons right on the tip of the tongue. Grape is very noticeable in the middle, with a slight carbonation burn. The back packs a very hefty dose of tart, but sweet, crab-apple with an even tarter yeasty finish. Extremely powerful, but delicious finish. Spicy burn travels right up the sinuses on the finish, spreading the tasty ester smell throughout the nose. Body is light, but the esters and carbonation help the flavour travel through the whole mouth.
Overall: An very tart and spicy beer with nice complexity that is everything a Tripel should be.

May 2015: Sample from 750 ml bottle. Deep golden to orange colour, white head. Aroma of apricots, basement, mild spices and dust. Medium sweet and oaky and spicy flavour, hints of apple brandy. Good beer.

This one was a gusher! Hadn't had that happen in a while... as I mopped beer off the counter and floor I had a concern that it was due to an infection, but it tasted and smelled fine. More than fine, this is a sweet and dry Tripel that holds up to any in this style.

Golden and slightly cloudy, with lots of sediment floating within. Topped with 3 fingers of white head.
Smells of apple cider, Brett, Belgian triple notes of pears, phenols and candy sugar, as well as sour vinegar qualities. Fresh green apples and dank wood cellars. Dusty wood and lambic brewery.
A big balance of sweet and sour, but leaning towards the sweet on the first sip. Apple orchards, pears, oak wood, and dank funk. Brett and nail polish, as well as white wine vinegar. A hint of stinky foot as well.
Medium body, smooth and balanced, with moderate carbonation.
Got this in Gatineau, drinking in the Kitchener area Dec 29th, 2017. Excellent, complex and wonderful barrel aged brew.

Pours into a stemmed glass a rich auburn color with a thick sticky slight off white head atop.Boozy in the nose with mild yeasty phenols and a slight sour apple tinge wich may or may not come from the calvadose barrel.A hint of cork comes thru upfront on the palate than some spice/black pepper with the green apple-like flavor with a mild sour tinge in the finish. It's boozy and you don't get a ton of the calvadose barrel but....It's pretty damn good either way.

The version I sampled was made with brett and aged 8 months in Calvados barrels. On tap @ Arabella Park - puts a hazed light copper colored ale in the snifter with a demure surface lace. Aroma is complex - Vinous, sour beery, stone fruit, burnt treacle, mustiness. this becomes more intense as it warms - flavor is also a complex amalgam of musty sweet tones balanced with fruity sourness and sharp spicy notes some wood and vinous notes - goes to a long wet drying finish. Wow, what a sensory overload for the palate.

Was the end of the keg at the Brussels Beer Fest in August 2017, so perhaps my review is somewhat biased by being the end of the keg. Look is a murky orange with good carbonation. Nose is sour, funk, bread, and some citrus peel. Taste is sour, a bit of hop bitterness, malt, and citrus peel. Mouthfeel was quite creamy.

Poured from the bottel into a tulip glass. Champagne stopped cap, with a good pop, and minor but controllable gush upon opening.
Opaque pale orange body color, with real nice pinhead cream bubbled effervesence. Rocky lightest khaki colored head, almost a faint peach yellow to it's color. Ultra fine and three finger solid head, not budging at all, you need a spoon for this one.
Unexpected brett nose, but with a wonderful aroma. Barnyard funk mixing with peach and apricot fruit, with a good faint toasty hint of maple sugar. Apple sweetness just a touch, with real good sweet oak tones almost cedar like in smell. A bit of a different contrast but a real fine one, with some real complexity going on here.
The palate is just wonderful. Creamy but lighter and crisp bubbly mouthfeel with wonderful flavors. Fruity and funky territory unparalleled, in a more tripel vein. Thick oak and rich chardonnay like quality, mixing with wonderful tones of pear and apple, citrus lemon and even touches of good wine. Vinous flavors and thick malt, with vanilla like sweetness, touches of warm clove phenols giving even a spicy aftertaste.
This is one truly unique tripel, that has one really unique profile. Wine like yet rich malt density. Fruity touches that go all over. Even phenolic heat and oak richness. Truly a remarkable beer.

Tap at Muted Horn, slightly hazy blond look; smell is mainly brett, nit much from the barrel but still very rich and pleasant; taste is brett, bready and fruity with some bitternes; very soft carbonation even though the guy who served me this told me that the night before beer was a extreme gusher. Overall good stuff
