Bottle (Hivernale): Poured a dark black color porter with a medium size light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sour cherry notes with lots of oak notes and some light dry roasted malt notes. Taste is a mix between some porter notes of chocolate and dry roasted malt offset by some cherry notes with quite a bit of oak and some tart notes. The sour notes are definitely stronger then the porter notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Interesting concept though not necessarily a flavour profile that I would seek on a regular basis.

Beer is black with a very small tan head. Head fades rapidly, leaving no lace.

Nose is vinous and tart, with cherry and grape flavours sticking out. Lots of oak as well, with accompanying vanilla scents.

The taste is very interesting. It begins like a Flanders sour; tart with some cherry, red grape, oak and vanilla. Then all of a sudden the porter introduces itself: roasted malt, a bit of chocolate and a notable bitterness. Pretty new flavour combination for me, and I quite liked it.

Full bodied and strongly carbonated. The carbonation is a bit irritating, and makes the beer feel a bit thin.

Overall, unique and quite enjoyable. Does not come across as strong as 10.5%.
