A pungent hop aroma escaped when I opened the bottle. Hazy dark straw colored beer supports a tall white head that pops its way to a thin film after a minute. Aroma of raw malts, lemon grass, and herbal hops is rather inviting. Mildly sweet malty beer with a light hop bite towards the finish. Finishes with a faint lemon twang. There is an earthiness to this beer that combined with the sour lemon notes makes me think something got into this beer besides traditional yeast. In this case the off-flavors are subdued and add to the beer. More primal then most keller biers, but a good drink.

Dark blond to orange in color, looking somewhat unclear from the yeast, with a head that is small and not that long-lasting.
Aroma is very sweet and malty, in the sense of caramel and fruit candy. A hoppy herbal presence is noticeable to, as is a trace of yeast. Kind of a dough-like or cookie-like smell, that is slightly pungent in its sweetness.
Initially, the flavour is less sweet and a bit more sour than the nose. Next, a bitter and roasted moment takes over. The beer finishes slowly and dry and results in a hoppy after-taste, which is still quite sour. A simple taste altogether, but not necessarily lacking.
Soft carbonation and a fairly light body.
An honest and rather simple beer, but definitely enjoyable.
