We visited the pub sometimes. Everytime we tried à new beer. The choice is amazing but dont expect north american microbrewery .

The food is ok but pricy but its in the middle of the old city so its ok.

There are often invited bands and its realy good music choice.

The only negative point is service. Dont expect to have only salad if youre plate is both salad and fries, they Will say its to complicated...

Great place, good food, good staff, nice atmosphere, world-class beer selection. But it's way overpriced in my opinion. But if you love beer and you're visiting Quebec City you should go to the pub. Though I would suggests you should try Quebec microbreweries' beers, there some good choices there too.

A pub with a patio right on St. Jean in the old city... Sit on the patio, sip a beer, people watch, enjoy the street artists. Fantastic. The quality you are getting is fantastic, with all the beers I choose being fresh. Did I mention they had a list of 200+ with all sorts of beers. The only holes in their selection is the lack of lambics, and the didn't have one beer I asked for at the time...

Service was decent, they were crazy busy, but you had to get the waitress' attention, and the people beside us waite 2 hours for their food.

$8 a pint will never get 'reasonable' from me for local beers, even if they have an expensive rent...

A great bar in the centre of upper old town. Looks like your typical pub with a decent local tap selection (think St Ambroise, Unibroue) but the bottle list is what seals the deal here. Lots of private imports, and good deals on some of the seasonal bottles ($15 for Fantome) and mid day drafts. Grab a seat by the window and enjoy the people watching.

*Unibroue Maudite - draft
*McAuslan Griffon Blond - draft
*Brasseurs Freres la Recidive
*Fantome Black Ghost
*Taras Boulba

Note I would've scored the selection higher if a few of the bottles seem to be out of stock frequently, or they hadn't updated their listings in quite a while.

We are visiting Quebec City for the second time and were pleasantly impressed by Pub St-Alexandre. They have a long beer list and fairly reasonable prices. We just had sandwiches, very fresh, excellent crispy french fries.
We stayed with the quebec produced beers, both on tap and in bottles - Maudite, Don de Dieu, Trois Pistoles - but you could have your choice of Belgians - (no DeDolle). Service was friendly and happily english speaking to us losers who speak very little french. It is open for lunch and dinner and has a nice Pub feel to it. We would return.

Fairly busy bar on the main commercial street of Quebec City. A east coast style band was playing when we got there, which was kind of nice, but I'm glad we arrived towards the end of the set because it was a little loud for conversation. Reasonably extensive beer selection, but nothing that knocked my socks off. I did expect more impressive bottles, but it was a disappointment. It was also very expensive compared to what I usually pay for a pint. I guess its a tourist premium considering its location. Luckily, they had Trois Pistoles on tap, while the wife plumped for a Blanche de Chambly. The food was very good - I had a nice choucroute garni, and my wife went for a steak and kidney pie. The service was attentive and friendly.

When I went to Quebec City for the winter carnival, this was the place I spent the most time in. Has a great selection of bottled beer, which they like to show off behind the bar, and a good tap list.

The place has a fairly large front area and a small upstairs, feels a bit small though. First trip was spent upstairs for dinner and is kind of cut-off from most of the action downstairs if they happen to have any live bands playing. The next night we just went for drinks and barely got a seat downstairs, the place was packed, but the orders kept coming at a timely pace.

The majority of the staff understood English so getting orders wasn't difficult compared to some other places in Quebec that I've been to. Easily one of the best Pubs if you're looking for a wide variety.

I had heard about this place before my trip to Quebec and was eager to check it out for myself. There is a very homey atmosphere inside this bar, with some cushion chairs and low tables you'd find in a coffee house set up. I went the day of the UEFA soccer final, so the TV was down and the crowd was pretty good for an afternoon. The long bar showcases the over 200 beers in stock, along with a friendly bartender who made good suggestions.

The crowd was a mix of young and old, ranging between 20 and 30 somethings. But the real draw here is the selection. Heavy on Belgians (though they are much more expensive) and Quebec beers, this place had enough to keep the biggest beer savant happy. I'd say at least 25 tap beers, as well. Overall, this nice pub was brew heaven for me. I'm glad I got to experience it!

As usual I was on business travel alone and looking for a place to grab a beer and kill some time. This place was right down the street from my hotel and looked inviting so I wandered in. I suppose 4 o'clock on a Monday wasn't the best time to survey the atmosphere but oh well.
Anyway, bar had a great selection of local beers on tap (must have been about 15 of them) which is always a good sign. My French being a little rusty I agreed to whatever the bartender suggested at first.
I started with a nice stout, can't remember much about it except it was good. Not really chocolate-y or coffee-y just a normal stout. I then asked for a local pale ale but was turned down in favor of a cream ale. Bartenders who have the taste and integrity to turn down a beer they don't like, especially when someone doesn't know what they're ordering, are aIways worth a mention. To her credit the cream ale was great; very hoppy which struck me as unusual for a cream ale -- but it worked for this brew.
I didn't see much of a food menu (like I said it was prime jobless drinkin' time) but the beer menu was quite impressive. Over 100 beers, most in bottles but a good chunk (maybe 25?) on tap as well.

No TV's for the lonely traveler but still a good place to kill some time. Just make sure you bring a friend or a book.
