Picked up a six pack at Lake Anna in Virginia because it was a VA beer that I had not seen in Maryland, plus, I like Belgians as a rule. Decent looking beer that was very interesting to the nose, seemed promising. Very tasty, I enjoyed this beer very much, tasty and easy to drink. This is one that I will buy again. (316 characters)

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a deep golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus hops. Taste is surprisingly hoppy, citrus, some malts, smooth and easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall an enjoyable beer, but loses a point for not really tasting like a Belgian pale ale, drinks almost like a mild American pale ale. (355 characters)

Had on tap at GBD

So overall I find Starr Hill to have merely average beers, but I still like to try and give them support

That being said this beer falls right into that middle of the road category. This beer has a dark amber appearance. Smell was faint malt, hint of citrus, and sweet bread. The taste up front is great with a bit of toffee notes soft sour taste from the Belgian yeast and a pleasant orange/citrus burst. The problem was the mineral metallic aftertaste. Really ruins the beer for me actually. It's not unbearable but it's definitely noticeable. Otherwise it could be a easy drinking full flavored beer. If they could just get that fixed I would drink this more often, but as it stands I would rather drink something else at my BBQ (751 characters)

Pours a orange gold with a medium off white lasting head. Citrus pine hops and fruity notes as well as some yeast and caramel malt flavor and aroma. Palate is a medium body with moderate carbonation. Finishes with a pleasant citrus caramel malt flavor with some citrus pine hops bitterness, fruity mildly spiced with a bit of a nutty ending. This is a solid, good summer belgian pale ale, (388 characters)
