The Amber Lights is a limited edition combination of the Amber Ale and Northern Lights brewed for their upcoming anniversary.

Poured from a growler purchased at the brewery on 10/15/11.

A - Pours a rich, hazy amber color with a nice bubbly head. Good lacing for this type of beer.

S - Malts are the most dominant smell, faint hops in the background. The smell is pleasant, but not particularly strong.

T - A nice mix of malt and hop flavors. Some sweet notes are present including caramel and citrus flavors.

M - Medium bodied with a nice dry and hoppy finish. A very rich feel in the mouth.

The Amber Lights is a great beer and in my opinion better than either the Amber Ale or Northern Lights. It has a very rich flavor and provides a nice balance of malts and hops. It is definitely closer in style to an amber than an IPA, but the IPA characteristics are there. Highly recommended, and I hope they decide to keep it on their regular rotation. (952 characters)
