This brew pours a clear golden color. The head tops off the glass white and fluffy, quickly fading to a thin lace. Aroma is wheat and grass and malt. A dry grass aroma with a touch of sweetness from the malt. Flavor is average, wheat and a bit of a twang mixed in, pepper? Dry feel in the mouth and carbonated on the tongue. A bit above average.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a nice fluffy one inch head on top. Bits of lacing stick to the side of the glass. Aromas start with light, grainy wheat tones along with some grass and hints of citrus. Nice..but nothing special.
First sip starts with a bit of biscuity..slighty buttery maltiness, wheat grains mix with hints of light lemon and some grassy hops as well. A nice light, clean flavor...but a bit too boring overall.
Smooth, even a bit creamy on the way down with a nice body. An easy quaffer. This was worth trying..but it's not one I'll be coming back to. There's just not enough going on here.

12 ouncer with freshness dating notched onto the label. Pours lightest of ambers, slight haze, with a white tiny bubble head. Nose is minimal confectionary sugar. Light bodied, not a ton of flavor, middle of the road wheat, with a slight hop bite late. Decent for a hot day but not much else.

What a confusing label ... Sea Dog Brewing Co. / Pugsley Brewing / Portland ME. Sea Dog is in Bangor. Thinking Portland may be on label since it may be contract brewed by Shipyard Brewing Co. in Portland. Also this beer is not listed on Sea Dog's website... :-( Oh well either way a fine and cheap example of an American Wheat !
Clear light gold with a pillowy off white nice head supported by lots of carbonation and leaves some lace. Balanced aroma with graininess, citric fruitiness, light yeastiness, and a touch of hops. Very similar flavor with lots of balance. Light-medium bodied and certainly not thin; very refreshing!
Very much a suprise and a bargain at Trader Joe's -- time to go back for a sixer or two.

Appearance: Crystal clear, light gold body, very nice head, gigantic and slow fading.
Smell: Yeasty and grainy, that's about it. Not bad, though.
Taste: Smooth at first, more yeast, then ends in a sharper hop flavor (strong vs. most in the style). Again, Pretty good.
Drinkability: One of the better beers sold at Trader Joes, easy to session.

It's a shame to call it a Wheat, as it hardly resembled that. Poured to a pale yellow, with thin white head that dissipated quickly and left no lacing. Virtually no aroma or taste, and finish wa non-descript. This was thirst quenching on a hot summer day, but then, so is ice water.

I like this stuff. It's really drinkable and has an overall mellowness to it that is hard to find in many beers. Poured out to a bright golden color with a nice cloud like white foam head. Some minor notes of lacing in the glass. Aromas of grain, sweet malts, corn and salty pepper notes. Nice. Flavor is totally quaffable, with an array of complex flavors meeting the palate with ease; wheat, malt, sweet corn, herbs and spices. Mouthfeel was zesty and light bodied, but don't mistake that for weakness. It was far from boring or weak. Good drinkability, this beer could be a good choice for cross overs or those looking for a good example of the style. Recommended.

12 oz brown longneck with no freshness dating.
Beer poured a nice bright gold with a decent head and not much lacing.
The beer did not have that much aroma, just hints of grain and bit of pepper.
The taste was solidly average. It reminded me of a slightly spiced High Life. Lots of grain, with just a subtle underpinning of some peppery spice flavor. I did not pick-up any hops, but given the style, I didnt expect any.
Beer had a decent mouthfeel (think prickly in a good way) with zesty carbonation. Drinkablity would be higher if the beer had a bit more flavor. Easy enough lawn mower type beer.
My dad picked up a bunch of different Sea Dogs at Trader Joes. He thinks the porter is the best, I guess I will have to try that one as well.

I was a bit confused by the color, it was deep golden yellow, but somehow neither transparent nor cloudy. Oh well, great huge head and pleasant citrus and yeast aroma. Nicely carbonated and very pleasant mouthfeel. Basic wheat beer in flavor, nothing stood out, yet nothing was missing. Great session beer.

A - Poured out a clear golden/yellow color with a white, two-finger head. Left minimal lace.
S - It smelled of wheat, yeast and citrus.
T - It tasted of wheat and coriander/orange. Fairly sweet flavor.
M - It was a little too fizzy and not very crisp. A very light-bodied beer.
D - Not a bad wheat beer. It's just not as good as some others of this style.

Apearance- Pours a clean and clear light, amber hay color. Looks more like a plae pilsner. The head leaves in a rush, but makes for with awesome lacing.
Smell- Smells mostly of crystal malt with soome light earthy hop notes.
Taste- Stars off with a little alkaline mixed with seltzery light malt with some grassy hops. Taste more like a dortmunder than a wheat ale.
Mouthfeel- Nice carbonation, but the alkaline in the front of the palate leaves much to be desired. But a pretty refreshing brew overall.

Pours BMC clear in to a pint glass. There is a big white head with some good staying power but it leaves little lacing on the glass.
Completely detergent like. None of the scents you would expect to smell in a wheat beer are showing themselves here. Pretty nasty overall.
Taste and Mouthfeel:
Drinks really crisp, light, and dry. There really isn't much substance to speak of. There are the most minor notes of unripe banana and a lager yeast character. Leaves me with a wet hay aftertaste. Again not very pleased.
This beer stands basically side by side with American macro lager in terms of drinkability. You could pound these all day long I'm sure but it's pretty flavorless given it's style.
This beer stands as proof that you can't judge a book by its cover. It says wheat beer on the bottle but screams glorified lager in the taste. A VERY pale wheat ale.

A nice finger of sticky head that develops into very even lacing. Clear, blonde body but a little too pale for my taste.
Straw smell with touch of yeast in the nose followed by a hint of apple.
Extremely strong cereal flavors; like grain mush. Not actually that bad but rather unbalanced. There's a refreshing bitterness in the finish with a prevailing appealing sweetness throughout. Good.
Mouthfeel is thick but flat for the style. The weakest area of the beer. However, this is a nice enough wheat ale and I'd buy it again in a pinch at Trader Joe's.

I was relatively impressed by the Sea Dog I.P.A., and for five bucks a six pack at T.J's thought I'd give this one a try. It pours a pale yellow color with little head and minimal lacing. Not really visually appealing. Smells like wheat mainly--very crisp and fresh. An accompanying aroma of citrus fruit follows. Pretty nice. The taste is weak and not impressive. Mainly that of wheat and malt flavors. Citrus is also there, but not enough to make it anything special. Bitterness is noticeable in the mouth. This beer is highly carbonated on the tongue. Really fizzy and somewhat boring. Overall, I'm not impressed. This is a weakly flavored beer without much to recommend it beyond price.

Hoping the IPA and Porter are better, and this is the summer beer that I'm drinking too late from Trader Joe's. It's a very light golden beer to start, but it seems to be skunk. The liquor section of TJ's is very open with lots of light, so looking like this went skunk. Maybe more a reflection of TJ's than Sea Dog, but still not a good beer for my Sunday afternoon, though I could see that it could be a nice, refreshing summer beer. But still, it doesn't have that much character to it--I'll only try in in Bangor if I'm there.
Post-eval reading seems to put me in the minority on this one, so guessing it's my location and timing.

Appearance: Golden color and small head. Looks filtered.
Smell: Malty and slightly bitter in the nose.
Taste:Not much of a wheat taste at all. More of a regular pale ale crispness. Very light hopiness.
Mouthfeel: Crisp and highly carbonated.
Drinkability: Now I know why it was $5 a six.

Ultra-clear golden yellow color with very active carbonation. Off-white head dissipates quickly and with minimal lacing. Smell is rather dull and grainy like a mainstream lager--even borderline skunky. Likewise for the taste, which is dominated by ho-hum grains accented and balanced by little else. The closest this beer comes to a wheat is in its smooth mouthfeel, but even that is unremarkable. This goes down easily enough, but as a wheat it falls short.
