A: Poured from a 12oz into a pint glass. A surprisingly light, gold amber with little head.
S: Very spicey. Like pumkin pie with a slight cinnamon and orangy quality that complements the pie aroma.
T: Tastes as it smells, although not as spicey. I'm not sure if I'm tasting pumpkin or pumkin spice, but there's a subtle pie feel. Slightly bitter with a mild pumpkin and buttery, biscuit aftertase. A little watery. Also a slight citrus maltyness. It could be a litte sweeter.
M: Decent body and adequate carbonation.
D: This is a good beer but it lacks confidence. The pie taste is really quite understated. That'd be ok, but there aren't any other flavors to take center stage. It leaves a kind of bland macro-lager, watery quality. Definitely a drinkable beer, and the understated pumpkin quality is a creative start, but it leaves much to be desired.

A golden colored beer with a medium-sized head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of spice. Things go downhill from there. The taste is overwhelmingly spicy, mostly clove. A little bit of malt. This beer is way too spiced, and just doesn't feel good in the mouth, leaving a burning sensation. One and done.

This beer is a typical pumpkin beer however that said, it is a little to sweet for me. This beer has a spicy sweet malt aroma. It is a transparent orange color with a white head. The beer begins harsh on the tongue, it becomes sweet and spicy (like a pumpkin pie, cinn and nutmeg). No hops or bitterness.
Spices almost overwhelm the beer but is an easy to drink beer but it is average at best.

12 oz brown bottle with a freshness date on the label. "Ale with pumpkin flavor added" ... don't tell me they added some sort of pumpkin essence.
A- No head at all after a kick fizzy foam, clarity is fine with a dull golden color.
S- Smells like a cold cup of that cheap mulled cider powder.
T&M- Very crisp with a watery body. Soda-like carbonation. Thin malt character, minimal hops ... very hard to pick out. Are there any hops in this beer at all ... I wonder. Cheap mulling spices and a faint grain middle to end. Very dry finish.
D- I have tasted a few non-alcoholic beers that have more flavor and character than this. A sorry excuse for beer IMO and there are far better pumpkin beers out there.

Another of the pumpkins I really like. Shipyard is one of my favorite pumkins and this one is very similar. It was poured from the bottle, a slightly translucent orangey color. A decent two-finger white head that disipated rather quickly after the first few sips. Smell is of strong but not "hit you in the face" pumpkin and spice. A distinctly fall/autumn smell.
The pumpkin taste is well balanced, with a bit of nutmeggy spice mixed in. It's a smooth beer, easy to drink - it goes down quickly and easily. Feels slightly carobonated in your moth. It's really quite a delicious beer if you're into the pumpkins and very drinkable if pumpkin isn't among your favorites but you just want to try.

Faint apple juice color with a very thin and low beige head. Aroma mostly of cinnamon and nutmeg, maybe a wisp of pumpkin, but I could be imagining it. Flavor is initially cinnamon, followed by light pumpkin, followed by nutmeg. Sort of perfumey. There's too much spice and not enough pumpkin. There's barely any pumpkin. Mouthfeel is initially watery but quickly gets fizzy in the mouth. Crisp and bubbly on the tongue. Too much carbonation. Not a great pumpkin beer.

Pours a crystal clear orange with a small, quickly disapating white head.
Aromas are faint but if you look you will find hints of cinamon, pumpkin pie spice, and unfortunately, soap.
Taste is also muted but after a light malt sweetness cinammon and nutmeg hit the tongue and then finish to a somewhat pleasant pumpkin flavor as you swallow.
Mouthfeel is typical of a light ale.
I've had few pumpkin ales....I love pumpkin and keep seeking out something good but have very few choices in Southern California apparently.
This was decent....but nothing to go nuts over.

This beer pours a pale yellow gold with a small white head. Not an impressive looking beer. The smell is a weak sweet malt and veggie aroma thats not too pleasant. The taste is a thin sweet malt, cinnamon, and pumpkin flavor that's not too strong or good. A poor excuse of a pumpkin beer. The m/f is light ,thin, weak with the flavors mixing poorly. This is a beer that I would rather forget and so should you.

Sea Dog Pumpkin Ale has a clear coppery color. Very little head. It smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, maybe ginger, and pumpkin. It's lovely. It tastes better than it smells. It's tastes like cinnamon toast. It has a very light body with a fizzy carbonation. Definitely the lightest pumpkin beer I have had. The drinkability is quite good and I highly recommend this pumpkin beer for it's light body and great pumpkiny flavor.

A- Pours golden and clear with a small fizzy white head that retains after the pour, carbonation bubbles rising to the top
S- light aroma overall, picking up some clean notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, cola, fall potpourri & clean malt
T- very light flavors, artificial cinnamon candle, diet cola, seltzer water with a touch of crisp malt on the finish
M- Watery thin mouthfeel with medium biting carbonation, slightly foamy and crisp finish
O- This drinks like a light lager with some artificial pumpkin flavors added. This may appeal to the casual light beer drinking crowd, but there are much better options out there for a craft beer fan

Pours a pale yellow with very little head.
Smell has a very slight hint of pumpkin spice, even a small cider aroma.
Taste is horrible though, from the moment it hits the tongue, especially on the sides. Taste is very light, similar to sparkling water in both taste and carbonation, thin on all accounts. Any hint of spice from the smell is lost on the taste.
Highly not recommended, far better pumpkin ales out there.

Had it on tap at the tavern in Topsham. First pint from a new keg after the lines were cleared. Nice light brownish amber color with a small amount of head that didn't last long. Aroma was exactly what I would expect from a pumkin beer. Smelt like a slightly cooled freshly made pumpkin pie. Flavor didn't match the aroma. Slight flavors of spices and pumpkin, which was nice. Definately not overwhelming, but not too weak. Easy enough to finish. Glad I made the choice.

L: Pours a yellow color with a medum sized but thin white colored head that leaves some lacing down the glass.
S: Very pumpkin-pie-esque. It smells of spices mostly - nutmeg, cinnamon, and some vanilla with pumpkin and a bit of malt in the nose.
T: Kind of bland. Mostly nutmeg and cinnamon, not much else. I was expecting alot more from the nose but it just didn't deliver.
M: Nice and light on the tongue with a good amount of carbonation.
D: OK. If it had more flavor it would be more drinkable.

seems pumpkin ales are the rage right now in the Bangor area. Dropped by the Dog for dinner and a couple of brews and thought I'd give this a try.
A - auburn brown in color, whisp of an off white head.
S - pumpkin pie - nutmeg, ginger and allspice
T - the spices dominate with a light sweet underlying malts supporting the brew.
M - light to medium bodied, mildy carbonated with a lingering spice aftertaste.
D - One was enough for me.

Single, twelve-ounce bottle copped from Nikki's Liquors in Providence...
Appearance: Not-too-impressive... light, see-through, light-copper hue with no head nor lacing...
Smell: Unassertive, faint, slight malt and pumpkin aroma... Nothing much going on here nor in the overall flavor... Fake pumpkin, artificial-like aroma...
One of the worst pumpkin ales I've sampled...

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light gold color, with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains light malts, pumpkin, spices and a faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of grain and barley followed by a mild pumpkin flavor and a touch of spice. Despite the breadiness, the malt character is kind of thin for the style. The hops presence is mild and there's not much balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.
M: Crisp but not very smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
D: Not very flavorful, does not go down easily, not too filling at least, mild kick, not a good representation of style, this one kind of seems like an adjunct lager with a slight touch of pumpkin flavor which is something you'd expect from the likes of BMC, but even their pumpkin ales have a little bit more to themthan this beer does. Overall, it's just not a good beer.

Best before March '06, so this wasn't an old bottle.
Pours a dull golden color with no head whatsoever and no bubbles and no nothing. Aroma is very spicy, some pumpkin but mostly ginger and nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste is same but with less pumpkin and more spice. Ridiculously spiced. No hops but still very dry. I need atleast some sweetness and some hop flavors. This might have been a bad bottle but it was a sad effort all in all.

Tap at northborough brewpub.
Light fizzy head as its filled to the brim over light semi clear golden pilsner yellow color.
Nose has quite a bit of pumpkin and spices, canned and slight fresh pumpkin, lots of spices nutmeg, allspice, ginger, clove, etc. hint of bready malts. Over spiced and light on overall beer.
Taste is loaded with spices, tons of cinnamon and nutmeg come out, ginger and allspice and bit of clove, typical pumpkin pie spices but overboard. Then pumpkin, not really any fresh pumpkin just pie filling and essence of pumpkin oil maybe. Light bready cracker malts. A bitterness comes through with the crazy spices and a hint of pine maybe hops, and a juniper like spice flavor. A bit fruity as well, hint if sweetness that turns slightly drier, not as sticky as I expected on the finish. A bitter definite earthy hop character comes through on the finish as well, dvds light lingering pumpkin essence and plenty of spices.
Mouth is lighter bodied, decent carb.
Overall meh, not as bad as I was expecting but not very good either. Way too much spice, not the best pumpkin flavor, other weird flavors like the juniper and pine that don't mesh well.
