Bought this for the wife but I wound up drinking it,poured a clear light golden with a decent one finger white head that is gone pretty quickly.Artificial apricot and big sweetness in the nose not much else to be had maybe a bit of toastiness.Real cloying on the palate apricot flavor is there in a big overly sweet form nothing els can cut thru the sweetness there. The sweet flavors are overbearing it might be good for a non beer drinker but the sweetness was just to much for me.

A 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. The beer was a golden color with a fairly small head, even with an aggressive pour. Apricot aroma, very sweet. The taste was the same as the aroma, along with a taste of grain. I thought this beer was a little too sweet for my taste; wouldn't want to drink more than one of these at a sitting.

If you like apricot candy you will love this beer. i however do not. I was hoping for less of of an apricot and more beer but alas. This is overwhelmingly apricot aroma, like that of a jolly rancher. The appearance is average for a wheat light golden in color. The taste is sweet and dry but has to much of fruit flavor with no finish. This could be very drinkable for some but to much for me.

12oz brown twist off bottle with a "Best Enjoyed Before" freshness date on the label.

A- Crystal clear walnut stain color, quick to froth but quicker to dissipate into nothing. Almost looks like a wine-cooler.

S- Apricot hard candy, faint grain in the back. Sterile ... uneventful aroma.

T&M- Light refreshing crispness, light bodied. Basic fruit flavor of apricot on top of a bland beer base. Finishes dry with only a memory of the fruit and a slight astringent grain.

D- Bartles & Jaymes anyone? Boring, just an other bland fruit beer. They must of broken out the cookie cutter for this one. What is the next flavor of the week going to be? FYI, Apricot is so yesterday.

Appearance: clear, no head, dark gold

Smell: peaches, apricots, and wheat

Taste: I think it tastes like a beer version of peaches and cream

Mouthfeel: sweet, light, watery, and smooth

Drinkability: I had their variety pack, so all of these reviews are similar. This was my second favorite of the three and was very drinkable especially in the summer..My experience is Sea Dog does good fruity beers..I could drink a lot of this in the summer, especially as an overall drink.

Yellow beer with no signs of apricot in it, very thin white head that immediately leaves this realm. Smells of apricot and sugar.

Apricot and cereal flavors, with added sugar in the taste. Not terrible, but tastes so unlike just straight up apricot the fruit. Can't finish dry or clean, that sugary kids cereal mouthfeel just hangs on throughout the beer. Not my cup of tea, like most of the Sea Dog offerings, this one is just a straight up unitiated chick beer.

Apperance - Effervescent clear golden pour. Initially a fluffy white head disappearing quickly and leaving no lacing.

Smell - Dried apricots and light malts.

Taste - Mild apricot sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Crisp and effervescent. Light bodied.

Drinkability - Nice and easy to drink, but I would have liked more apricot taste.

Scents of apricot. That's about all I picked up. Flavor is mostly of apricot, but an off sort of apricot, with a slight hint of malt. No bitterness, no wheat. Mouthfeel is light bodied with high carbonation. This combines with the flavor to make it drink a lot like a fruit soda. It's refreshing I suppose, but not really at all what a good fruit beer should taste like. The fruit is there, but it doesn't taste quite natural and the wheat is non-existent, though the bottle only calls it "Apricot" so maybe they changed something. It's nothing special, and fairly mediocre as far as fruit beers go.

A: Amber with an offwhite head, that goes away quite fast.
S: When poured the apricot really hits you. Apricot (dried), some malt. After a while the presence of apricot diminishes, red berries, some buttery tones.
T: Malt, apricot, a bit perfumed, pez. Aftertaste of dried apricots and - cheese doodles! And pez. Taste not bad but strange. Maybe it takes some getting used to.
M: Tiny bubbles of carboration, light in body. Kind of thin, almost flat to the feel, yet get's you burping immediately.

I had hopes for this, but felt a bit let down. The apricot's there, but the thin quality and light body is not a good partner for the apricot taste. I can't decide wether I like it or not, but I had hoped for a richer body. I can't find the wheat anywhere. I will have to try this one soon again, maybe get a pair of them, because even though I was dissapointed I feel there's something there to be discovered. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Sea Dog- Apricot Wheat

Appearance- Golden orange with no head.
Smell- Strong apricot. Nothing else.
Taste- Big apricot flavor with a touch of wheat/ straw.
Mouthfeel- Very sweet and crisp.

Overall- Not much to say here, it tastes of Apricots. Not bad tasting but 1 is enough. This is a desert beer, or a beer for girlie girls.

Pours a yellow gold with a medium head that disapears quickly. The smell is a strong apricot peach aroma that seems very artificial and almost sickly sweet. The taste is less strong than the smell with a nice apricot flavor and little else. The m/f is light and well balanced. I'm not a big fruit beer guy and I would rate this as average at best.

A - translucent copper with a quarter of an inch of fizzy white head that quickly fades away

S - intense sweet apricot with faint underlying wheat

T - artificial apricot

M - light bodied, a bit syrupy, crisp, a bit heavily carbonated

Well, there's no mistaking this for what it is. A light bodied beer with apricot syrup added. It's easy to drink and refreshing but you will definitely notice the syrupy qualities. If you enjoy apricots this is worth a try.

A - Golden pour with a beige foam that shrinks quickly.

S - Smells like fresh apricots, though after a while it does seem like the scent of artificial flavoring.

T - Tastes like a light drinking ale with some fruit flavor. A bit gimmicky, but pleasant anyway.

M - Easy to drink and feel slight. But the sugary fruit flavor would make me want to try aomething else.

O - This would be a fun beer for people who are wine cooler\cocktail drinkers and you wanted to offer beer. I get that the craft community would find this as a bad attempt at a fruit beer, but I thought it was okay.

Orangey, gold, coppery color with nothing resembling a head.

Has a nice gentle smell. Apricot scent is obvious, but subdued and not overbearing like a lot of other fruit beers.

Taste is similar, it's sweet and fruity but not so much that it's disgusting.

Feels good in the mouth. Crisp and refreshing, with a splash of sweet in the finish.

Hides the 4.8% ABV very well. Goes down easy, very drinkable.

BBD of Jan 08, picked this up on a whim, let's see how it rolls:

Pours a spritzy golden with 3+ fingers of white head. Zero head retention & lacing

S: Fruit juice (apricot & peach juice), maybe a hint of honey & not much else

T: Peach & apricot juice with some metallic twang up front. Slight lemon notes. Finishes a bit dry with too much juice

MF: Slick with thin/medium body & low/zero carbonation

This is a one & done, just tastes like juice with a splash of beer spilled into it, possibly one of the worst beers I've had in a year or so

Alright... What the hell is this thing? Is this supposed to be a wine cooler or a beer. This thing smells of a fruity urinal cake with over-the-top apricot and floral and citrus perfume. The smell is so pungent that it's as if someone left apricot and peaches to ferment and then put them in a sock and duct-taped it around my nose. I could almost imagine "the ladies" enjoying this one. The taste is artificial and a complete chemical apricot mess. Hello, malt beverage from Club Jersey Shore...

If this were a malt beverage with simply low alcohol, I'd say they NAILED it... For a fruit beer... Oh god, KILL IT! KILL IT, NOW!!

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of sweet apricots. Taste is also dominated by apricots, not much else going on. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and is very drinkable. Overall this is a different and enjoyable brew.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Stamped 0234P. Sampled on September 5, 2013.

The pour looks like it should with a pale yellow tone and a white fizzy head. Good clarity.

The aroma is all apricot and little to no wheat. There might be a slight clean crisp hop note in there as well but the fruit is the main thing.

The body is light and refreshing which seems to fit the style.

The taste is like the aroma - mainly of apricot and the slightest pale malt note. I pick up little to no wheat here either. Basically a routine fruit beer. But it keeps selling around here so there must be a big enough following.

A: Poured a dirty peach color with a small quickly dissipating white head.

S: sugary sweet and fruity with artificial apricots dominating.

T: The initial flavor was much the same, sweet, fruity apricots with light creamy wheat. The flavor was crisp and clean ending abruptly.

M: thin and heavily carbonated with a fizzy seltzer/wine cooler feel.

D: Drinkability was average at best, one that would most likely appeal to the young wine cooler crowd more then the fine craft drinker.

A slight reddish gold color; the head thinned away really fast. The smell had some bite to it, but it smelled more like artificial fruit candy than fruity beer. The taste was a bit better with more vocal apricot flavors. There is a lagging aftertaste that reminds you of that artificialness. A decent carbonation gives it an okay body, but combined with the taste it is not that refreshing. Overall, it is ok for one drink here and there, but I would not get a six pack of it.

This beer pours a clear, bright yellow with a thin head and no lace. The aroma is of apricot, dough and lemonade. The flavor is apricot. There are notes of lemon and malt sweetness. The apricot is foremost but not overwhelming. The mouthfeel is light and bubbly. Sea Dog apricot Wheat Beer is a good beer, light, refreshing and very drinkable, recommended.

Pours a real lazy tiny white ring of barley a fraction of a white head. Lots of elevator carbonation bubbles from the bottom of a solid butter gold color. Clear, but no lacing.

Smell is a straight up gummi bears with virtually no real fruit smell to detect. There is a faint rind of something apricot like but it smells syrupy and chemically.

Taste improves slightly with a realistic fruit forward and small chew consistency. Surprisingly the beer had some body and a good finish that isn't too wet either.

I could have another I suppose but not to crazy about the smell and look on this one.

Poured into a Kwak glass. Says best enjoyed before December '11. Just in time.

A- Pours a light gold color with a 1/4 inch head that retains for a minute and then slips down to an 1/8 inch head with pretty much no lacing.

S- Smells like tropical Lifesavers with a very mild wheat base that's barely noticeable.

T- The wheat is stronger in the flavor but gives way to a weak, stale taste that's common in macro-lagers. Otherwise, more artificial apricot flavor that doesn't do much else but provide a sweet, syrupy taste to an otherwise lifeless beer. Actually kinda smells more full than it tastes.

M- Thin and watery with medium carbonation.

O- Wow, what a strikeout. I grabbed a single because I thought their Blueberry offering was decent - not great, decent. This is much more pedestrian. Buy it for a girl who says she doesn't like beer.

On-tap at Rattle n' Hum, New York, NY

A: The beer is clear yellow in color with some hints of amber hues and no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that eventually completely faded away.
S: There are moderately strong aromas of apricots in the nose, similar to what you would get if you sniffed a jar of apricot preserves.
T: The taste prominently features flavors of apricots without any associated sweetness. No wheat is detectable.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer seems a little one-dimensional with all of the apricot flavors, but is easy to drink, especially for a novice craft beer drinker that likes things that are fruity.
