Benelux Brewpub in Montreal....

Stopped at this place a couple of times during my trip to Montreal, it was way closer to my hotel than any other areas.

Decent sized outdoor area with tables and chairs, inside I found a rustic décor with lots of small tables along with booths and areas with plush leather chairs. Comfortable vibe, really chill. Had eight things listed on tap but were out of the Rouge. Probably should have taken that off then.

I tried many of their offerings, most were passable and fairly good but nothing stood out. Service was relaxed but friendly and helpful.

For food, I tried the European Hot Dog and it was excellent and done perfectly, they also have a selection of paninis as well. Also, full bar for the non-beer inclined.

Prices were a bit high, but this is Montreal after all. Basically the Manhattan of Canada.

This is near McGill College and will get crowded at night, best time to come for busy times is then, early afternoon it’s pretty relaxed.
Overall, not the best place in Montreal but a good chill place to stop by.

If I had to make a list of the top 5 places to visit in Montreal based on the quality of their beers, Benelux would be included. Every beer I tasted was right on for style, but also with a little house character thrown in, and they were all clean and very well made.

I felt the decor was a combination of "posh" and "slick" with some down-to-earth character thrown in (the air ducts and wacky sprinkler pipe in front of the vault door). At night it has a kind of "glowing light" in a concrete box kind of thing going on, and although the seating appears kind of stiff, in the end it's actually very comfortable. I guess all of that has to do with the vibe, which is casual and fun. College students mingle with tourists and professionals stopping in for a beer before they head home.

I did not try the food, but watching them toast the rolls for the wurst on pointy spears rising above the grill was interesting.

Absolutely worth checking out.

Sherbrooke location. Tried the stout and American brown ale. Both very good. Brown ale much happier than many. Food is simple but good. Tex msex chicken wrap and "European" hot dog both simple but nice flavor. Service was prompt and friendly. 11 beers available on our visit. Sat outside with nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

This place is good for microbrews. However the smell when you first enter may scare you but don't walk out just yet. Their flights are reasonable and the beer s good. You should go for their appetizer of olives, crackers and cheese. It goes well with the flight

Good location, but not the most appealing appearance outside. Inside isn't a whole lot better, but it works. Great vibe inside. I was there on a pretty random Thursday night.
Staff was fabulous. Super courteous, pleasant and upbeat. Food was decent enough (had the veggie panini) but nothing I'd write home about. Beer selection was great. Lots of variety.
Pricing was more than fair. I look forward to another visit.

We arrived at Benelux around 4pm on a Friday afternoon and the outdoor area was quite crowded. Regardless, they were able to seat a group of seven of us at one of the last available benches outside. The server was extremely helpful, explaining each of the beers as well as the food in detail. I started off with a saison - the name of which escapses me - and moved on to the Yakima, an American IPA. Both beers were excellent. I did not try any food but two of my friends had paninis and said they were good. Another three friends came to meet up with us and there was no longer room for us outside. I asked the server if she could move us inside and she kindly closed out our tab outside and moved us to a long table inside to the rear of the bar. We ordered a few more rounds and had a great time. I would happily go back anytime. Good beers and atmosphere. Grab a seat outside if possible and take in the surrounding city.

Benelux is one of my favorite Montreal beer spots. They always do a great job with their beer and there is always a good selection. I have yet to try an Benelux beer that disappointed me. The employees are, for the most part, great. They have very good food to go along with their great beer, and the food is not quite as pricey as the beer which is nice. The inside has a great environment, but if it is a nice day, the area they set up outside is also great.

Definitely a must-visit if your in Montreal.

The beer good but the service was very bad. The blond waitress charged us three glasses of beer more than we actually had. I suggest people who go there to carefully check the bill.
The waitress first did not want to show us the details of the bill and her attitude was really bad. Of course my comment does not apply to the other waitresses, who seemed to be fine. The only bad thing about the place was really the service. The atmosphere of the place was really average. They did not offer us a menu nor mentioned the prices, probably because of that we did not eat anything. The prices were actually OK for beer in Canada. The taste option was interesting.

Up in Montreal for a weekend and hit this place up for brews and lunch after roaming around Olympic Park and the Biodome all morning. We sat in the outdoor seating immediately in front of the entrance, and the wait staff rounded through pretty regularly. Indoors was a little on the dark side, with lots of pop-art advertisements on all of the walls, a couple of flat screens that were showing the Euro Cup, and some chalkboards with the day's specials listed. The menu is short and sweet, but the food and tapas is very tasty. Good rotation of brews available in all kinds of different styles. From the ads, it looks like there is a ton of beer-centric events for special releases, too. The staff was helpful and did very well with the language barrier. Prices were not bad at all for both the beers and the grub. I would definitely go back again.
