Prepare to be round-housed in the taste buds. This is a North American-style India Pale Ale. It has an intense Northwest Pacific-hop character from a ridiculous amount of hops added to the brew-kettle, and then dry-hopped later on during conditioning. Citrusy, floral, and fruity flavours take front stage, while the caramel accented malts give it some balance.

On tap at Taps on Queen in Niagara Falls, ON.
This one pours a moderately dark amber, with a small head and not much lacing.
This smells mainly malty, with stale caramel malt, and just a hint of grapefruit.
This is pretty mediocre, unfortunately. The malt dominates, and it's not even tasty malt, as you get some metallic and stale sweet things. The hop character is mainly just bitter with no balance or complexity.
This is pretty drinkable, but you don't necessarily want to.
This is very mediocre.

Growler fill from the brewery. I believe this was actually 5% abv as the sticker on the growler indicated, but who knows....
L: Amber in color. A cap of slightly of white head tops the beer. Retention was great, and so was lacing.
S: A bit of citrusy hops. A fairly big cereal and caramel malt character.
T: This is not what I would call an IPA, it's good though. A little bit of citrusy, but mostly grassy, hops come through. Caramel and toffee are the most dominant flavors, really. A bit of biscuit too. Bitterness is fairly firm. It's still a bit chewy sweet though. More like a bitter amber ale.
F: A touch too thick. The caramel malt really thickens the beer up. It's nice that the head stays around forever. Maybe a bit more carbonation than I would have liked, but it's not that bad.
O: Pretty decent stuff. I wouldn't have a problem drinking this on tap but not something I'd buy to sip at home. Not an IPA at all in my opinion, outside of its bitterness. Think of it as a bitter amber amber ale and it's a good time.

Had this beer while in CA. Beer tasted metallic with hops. Funky musty aftertaste. Had it at the brewery and was quite disappointed.

tap
Pours a slightly hazy copper with a white lacing.
Smells of strong piney hops with a citrus bite and biscuity malts.
Strong bitter hop flavor, both floral and dry, over biscuit malt.
Medium body with a stinging carbonation on the tongue.
Solid pale with nice surprisingly hoppy flavor. Worth trying and better than I expected.

From notes taken at the Taps brewpub last night, where this pint was served far too cold. A beer I've enjoyed multiple times in the past, but seem never to have rated before. This batch is not nearly as impressive an APA as I remember from earlier growlers and brewpub visits.
Pint is a beautiful dusty amber with limited head but impressive lacing. Minimal aroma is surprisingly malt-forward, and remains limited even as the pint warms. The flavour ends with a bracing and delightful bitterness, but doesn't have the hop profile or balance that I remember. Malt-forward start and body doesn't have any citrus or tropical fruit "west coast" tones before an abrupt transition to bitterness. No longer the OCB highlight that was once “Chuck Norris”...

Pours a hazy orange-ish to yellow color with an off white head. In the aroma, a mellow hop, with notes of citrus. In the taste, mellow hops, which a still upfront, but kind of thin. A hop abrasion and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a dryer hop and mellow citrus notes in the aftertaste. Lacking body, and hops are more mellow than expected.
