I had this on tap at the brewpub as well, but this review is from having it on cask at Cask Days at Volo. One of my favourite styles, so looking forward to seeing how an Ontario brewery would handle it. Pours a cloudy orange with nice foamy white head. Nice lacing. Smells of strong citrus hops with the Belgian yeasty aromas. Nice sweetness in the flavour with the bitterness from the hops. I can't decide if this one or the imperial stout is my favourite from Taps, but this is really good. Would not have guessed this was from Ontario if I didn't know.

Glass at Volo, served in a classy long-stemmed wine glass. Hazy lemon meringue appearance, with a deepyellow body and a fluffy egg white head. Good retention, with lace spots and sheets left behind. Tropical fruit assault the nose, with a good dose of spicy yeast, candy sugar and dry funk. Seems pretty spot on for this new style. Excellent flavour! Again, lots of tropical fruit, with mango, lychee and banana coming to the fore, but its more than balanced by some dry grain and light funk. The finish has a good bitterness, and a touch of pepper. Fuller mouthfeel with a velvet carbonation.

This is a really well-crafted Belgian IPA, and I would never have guessed that this was from an Ontario brewery instead of a Belgian one. Truly outstanding, and the best beer I've had from Taps so far.

Had a half a growler sitting around for a bit cause I forgot about it.

a-pours a nice golden colour with a decent lasting head.

s-nice sweet belgian notes followed by a citrus hops. Really smells nice. I was blown away by this beer.

t-Citrus hops are first and foremost with the more traditional belgian notes of yeast/bread, sweet malts following up in the aftertaste.

m-pretty heavy but this is a 7%er so I would expect that.

d-really drinkable. I had like 5 to 6 pints the one night before I realized that it was a 7% beer.

Overall one of the best beers I have had that was crafted in the Niagara Region. Apparently this was a one off so there may be no others. Not sure if we will see this one again as the brewer may now have left the company.

On tap at Volo, served in a stemmed wine glass.

Pours a clear golden yellow, finger of white head, sticky lace and good retention. Nose is jammed with fruity esters, peach, pear and some floral hop notes. Taste is similar, hops are prominent, but offers some green pear and green apple flavours here too. Interesting take on the style, North American hops are evident and work wonderfully with the belgian yeast. Finishes dry and bitterness lingers for a bit. Medium-high carbonation, a sipper in most respects however.

Great to see stuff like this from Ontario brewers, keep up the good work.

Had on tap at Taps.

I had never heard of this style before, wierd. I'm going to be looking for more of them.

Appearance was good, it wasn't poured with much head on it though. What head was there lasted for a while, leaving some nice Belgian lace on the side of my glass. Hazy, unfiltered. Golden, pale straw like colour.

Smell: wow! So much going on! Citrusy juicy hops and spicy yeasty-ness. Bannansa, grapefruit, oranges, peaches. The yeast aromas work well with the hops, neither one of them overcrowding the other.

Tasted great, one of the best beers I've had from a local brewer. Flavors similar to the aroma. Very bitter, a guy at the bar said that it was 80 ibu's. Tasted cirtusy, like the aroma indicated, but also sort of piney (in a delicious way). Bananas, cloves, citrus. The finish is dry.

Mouthfeel is big, thick, and velvety. Great texture. Carbonation is normal, if not a bit high.

Dangerously drinkable. The bartender should have mentioned that it was 7.5%. I couldn't tell by tasting it... only when I got up to go to the washroom did I notice how strong it was.

Wow, I need to find more of these. I'd like to find one from Belgium, if this Niagara version is this good.

Enjoyed with Kevin the brewer at the brewpub. Cloudy yellow, somewhat unfiltered look, with 1/4 inch of lasting soapy head. The aroma is a little funky. It is served too cold by the system. After 10 minutes, the funkiness is moderated, and there is some hop aroma. It is an 80 IBU gem of chinook, citra, and amarillo. Medium mouthfeel The amarillo orange is predominant, the pleasant hop flavour build and the y-yeast is in he secondary.
