I was always meaning to visit Lone Hill Liquors as I heard good things. This is solid bottle shop.

The location is in a strip mall at Lone Hill Avenue and Route 66. Once you go in, you'll find the wine in the middle of the store and craft beers in coolers to your right. I found the usual suspects you would find at better bottle shops and the prices I found to be on par to tad higher than my regular shops.

For me, the drive is a bit much to shop here on a regular basis, but if you're in the neighborhood, it's a good bottle shop to pick up quality craft beer. I didn't see any rarities, but I also didn't ask if there was anything held in the back.

The Worst liquor store customer service ever! I stopped here on my way to The Bruery after finding it listed here as a good bottle shop. I walked in and they did have a large selection. I was really only looking for sours and found nothing I wanted and the few bottles I checked out were over priced. It seemed like everything here was a couple bucks more than most places. I asked the guy if they had anything from Russian River (since most places like to hide it in the back) and he kinda rolled his eyes and said "I can get you a Pliny". I told him I'm actually looking for anything else besides Pliny. He said they didn't have anything else from RR. He went to go grab it from the back and my girlfriend asked if she could have one and he said no, just one. I asked if we each could have one and again he said no and that I am lucky he is being nice enough to give me one! I was surprised he was being such a dick and told him he's not allowed to NOT sell it to people. He's also not supposed to hide it in the back either. He said if I do that then everyone will tell their friends and they will come in here and all buy one. I said, so what? Do you not want to sell them? Do you want them to get old? Are you keeping them for yourself? Since he didn't give a shit what I said I went up to buy my 1 Pliny and he rang it up, $11!!! I assumed he changed his mind and was going to give us each one but he said no, just 1. It's $9.99 plus tax. I told him I pay less than half of that at whole foods and most places charge around $6. He said good for them. You should buy it from them then. I told him forget it and walked out. Could believe the customer service there. Just cause he has an account with Russian River he thinks he's a big shot or something. We'll see how long he has an account with them when they find out he's hiding, hoarding, and over charging for it.

Second stop of the LA area day, right after stopping at Hollingshead's so it had some big shoes to live up to. Upon entering I was left wondering if I was in the right spot. All of the beer is located in the cold fridges on the right side of the store. Spirits are mostly behind the counter and wine is in the middle, they outnumber beer approximately 3:1. Atmosphere was decent. I could feel the guy behind the counters eyes follow me around the store which was a little off putting. Service was much the same, he never once asked if I needed help and my only interaction with him was brief and to the point. Quality was pretty solid. I didn't notice anything our of date so no problems there. Selection was good but nothing amazing. Plenty of national and international brands mixed with the normal regional ones, nothing overly rare or anything like that. Prices were typical for the area. Overall a decent bottle shop but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it again.
