Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.
Appearance: Pours a very hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of white head which fades into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing.
Smell: A spicy and fruity yeast driven aroma with good hints of citrus fruit. Belgian yeast with upfront hints of clove, pepper, funk, and coriander. Fruit hints of banana, pear, apple, and white grape. Citrus fruit hints of orange, lemon, mango, and apricot. Sweet hints of candied sugar. Pale malt with hints of wheat, grains, straw, and cracker. A pretty solid aroma.
Taste: Like the smell, a fruity and spicy Belgian style taste with good notes of citrus fruit. Belgian yeast with some notes of peppers, clove, coriander, and funk. Big mix of fruit esters with notes of banana, pear, white grape, and apple along with citrus notes of orange, lemon, apricot, and mango. Pale malt with bready notes of wheat, grains, straw, and cracker. Sweet notes of candied sugar. A pretty good Tripel taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Spicy and pretty sweet. Alcohol heat is tame.
Overall: A pretty good take on the Belgian Tripel style. On the sweeter side but not overly cloying.

On tap at Side Door Grill. Totally enjoyed this. It drinks like an American barleywine -- hop-forward with a massive undergirding of malt sweetness.
The aroma: Wish it came in a snifter, but Side Door serves all its 10 oz. pours in these little flared out glasses that are like a mini-pilsner glass. So the aroma was almost completely lost to the light breeze of the patio. I covered the glass with my hand a few minutes and produced a pretty complex aroma, fruity, heavy sweet sugar and sulfur and cream. A handsome pour, though, to be sure, a tasty-looking copper haze, with a soft head w/ sticky lacing.
In the mouth the flavor is much more complex. Even w/ the bulldozer hops up front, there's a banana-taffy sweetness and a bready malt, with an alcoholic brightness bridging the two warring sides. And despite the nice sharp carbonation, there's sort of a creaminess too (or is that just the seriousness of the malt?)
Aye-yay-yay! This beer is too sweet. I'm having to re-review this brew b/c my current experience with it is so different from my previous review (7/21/13, 4.45).
Wow. I'm amazed at how much one's taste buds can change from day to day. I respect my
previous reading of this brew, no matter that my current perception is pretty much "yulkh!"
The aroma is classic tripel. Good show on that score, Ale Asylum.
However, dang, I can't get past the cloying sweetness.
I'm gonna have to have some friends try this. . . .

Pours a HUGE, dense, white head that has good persistence and laces nicely. Sweet malt and floral hops combine with a slightly banana/clove yeast aroma. Radiant, crystal clear color . Starts with a sweet, sweet maltiness and rich booziness. Builds into a nice estery, booziness, a touch of hop bitterness as this all peaks, and then it smooths (still boozey) into velvety malt.
Overall, not bad. MINE HAS NO YEAST, so that REALLY dings the flavor. I've had this in the years before, with the yeast, and it's great. I had it at the brewery this year, with the yeast, and that was great, too. The same problem hit Bedlam. I had talked to someone at Ale Asylum who said it is that the new tanks are bigger, so apparently this results in way less yeast in all their brews this year. Bedlam was also yeast-free when I bought bottles...[grumble]. A huge knock to the flavor.
I will re-review this once I get a bottle with yeast in it...
