Special Thanks to Estarrio for providing this in trade. Jason is an excellent trading partner.
I'm excited to try this since it appears to be in the vain of a Cascazilla, Red Rocket, Hop Head Red and other highly hopped amber ales. A sub style I really like.
A nice finger plus of fluffy off white head form atop the beer. This settles to an 1/8th inch cap that remains. The beer is a bark amber color with light brown tones. A good amount of tiny carbonation is making its way to the surface. Nice spider web lacing is all over the inside of the glass.
Aroma is interesting. A bit spicy, real musty and a touch floral. You can tell there is a hop presence, but the musty/earthy nature is at the forefront.
Flavor is really nice and much better then the aroma indicates. Initial fruit, then a touch of grainy malt. Some caramel then some pine and the hops begin to take over. Nice lingering hop profile that plays nicely with the malt backbone.
Slightly slick on the tongue and tight carbonation.
Nicely drinkable. Bigger then a session beer, but I could sit and have a couple.
