Pours an unfiltered hazy amber orange. Hoppy aroma consists of piney hops and biscuity malt. The mouthfeel is soft and medium in body. Probably one of the hoppier amber ales I've ever had. There's a nice malt presence that's over-run by the beer's hoppiness. Flavors of piney hops and grapefruit dominate the palate. Caramel and toasted malt appear midway before a mildly bitter hoppy finish.

Very enjoyable. It's the first brew I've had from Ale Asylum and I'm looking forward to trying the other two that are currently available in bottles- the nut brown and the pale ale.

A -- A fairly clear amber / copper brew that pours to a clean two finger head which dissipates slowly to a mild froth, leaving a thick chunky rim of lacing.

S -- Toasted malt with mild sweetness, candied fruit, and hints of pine.

T -- A subdued but, complex malt -- caramel, a hint of toast, and heavy earthy qualities which pervade throughout and are slightly accentuated by the hop profile -- sticky pine and light, cleansing bitterness.

M -- Light moderate carbonation, medium bodied, and just a little sticky.

O -- Totally decent, but not what I expected. Worth a try, would pick up again.
